Help me choose a phone with good internet

I am nearing the end of my contract with T-mobile but they are not offering any good upgrades as I am avery low user and seldom go over my allowance.
So I looking for a new phone. What I am looking is a phone with good internet only for e-mails and web-pages(BIG Screen). I need 100-200 minutes/month and 20-30 texts a month. but unlimited internet.

I have narrowed down my search to-
1) Iphone on 75 min, 125 texts/month at £30/month and £97 for phone
2) Blackberry storm on 100 min n 50 texts at £25/month £97 for phone
Blackberry Bold on £35/month with £50 for phone
Blackberry Curve 8900 on £35/month phone free
3) LG Renoir free on £30/month with unlimited internet
4) Samsung Pixon on £30/month with unlimited internet
5) The T-Mobile G1 at £31.50/month with unlimited internet

The last 4 deals have plenty of minutes n texts.

Any suggestions.
Thanks for looking

Thanks

I just went through same dilemma - do you really want to spend £35 a month if you don't use many texts and minutes?

I got MDA Compact IV for £25 a month, 200 mins, 200 texts, unlimited internet, and £25 for the phone. Uses Opera for web browsing which is pretty good for internet browsing. I think only the Blackberrys have support for flash (iphone doesnt) so if you wanted to look at flash content it would be more suitable.

I was considering some of the ones you mentioned, but at the end of the day why spend an extra £10 a month (£180 over the contract, or more) if your usage is quite low?

    Thanks for the replies.

I did think about HTC Touch HD but it is too expensive for me-- OK available on £30/month without internet but even if I add internet it is £35/month and its orange which have rediculous small ammount of allowance--arround 250 MB
The MDA Compact IV si available at £25/month and £137 for the phone on T mobile at the moment. So a bit costly as well and I dont know how good is the phone.

    Thanks anyway

I know what you mean about the Touch HD being expensive but it has the biggest screen and knocks the iPhone out for features (but if your not a Windows Mobile phone it might not be for you). Orange now do 500Mb for £5 per month which although might not be as good as TMobile's 1Gb fair usage it's not bad and is cheap. Orange are offering the phone for free for a £29ish per month contract. You'd have to add £5 per month data for this though. Of course as a current Orange customer they are refusing to offer me this deal and want me to pay £190 for the phone. Lovely people at Orange...!

Had a long chat with T-mobile retentions. The guy was suggesting Blackberry Bold and offer me for a 12 month contract @ £35/month with 6 months free satnav and the cost of Phone £65 150 texts n 150 mins
Was also offered G1 for £50 on 12 month contract n free at 18 months contract @£30/month all inclusive

But I said thanks and took the PAC

  • Just so if it helps, T-Mobile Compact IV is HTC Touch Diamond, just a rebranded phone.

I am in similar situation as OP and thinking of LG Renoir as my best option on Orange. On a 12 months contract, £27.50 per month + £5 for itnernet. Get it from quidco and get £60 cashback. Making it £27.50 per month on Racoon 30. 250 Mins. + 100 Txts.

T-Mobile also offered very pathetic retentions deals to me, and I am getting my PAC next week, when my contract is finally up.

Where is it 27.50/month. Is it on the orange site?
Looks a good deal but I was reading reviews, some people had concerns about its voice quality.
    Thanks

When I spoke to T-Mobile on Monday they offered me the Compact IV for £25 on combi 20 + WnW (£25 per month). When I spoke to them Tuesday they said the Compact IV was £129 or something. I told them they previously offered it for £25 and they dropped the price back to £25. I'm guessing they try and flog it for £130 but you should be able to get them to drop it quite considerably.

The BB Bold is quite well rated by the way and you could probably flog it for at least what the HTC Touch Diamond is worth, probably more.

Yes, its on Orange website. As I said, go via Quidco and get £60 cashback.
Not sure about the review you are mentioning. I had a look at GSM Arena and Mobile Phone Reviews website, and both rate this phone high. Fingers crossed.
