Quote: "If mortgage brokers want to add a signature about being a broker"
What is yr point?
The point is that if you don't want to add a signature you shouldn't indicate you are a broker in any other way within your posts.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards. I agree with much of what you say HelpWhereIcan. One principal point though is that I did not ask for advice as such. Merely a technical clarification. It was a question which I had intended to aim at the boss had he been there because we have already done business and I trusted his knowledge. It would have taken no more than 30 seconds to answer.
It was the broker who was fishing for information about my deal and then went on to contact the Halifax.0 -
and what about those who are using the signature and who are NOT advisers, as i know this is happening and also this misleading signature by gorgeous george "I am not a Mortgage Adviser. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as 'not a Mortgage Adviser', so you need to take my word for
NOBODY is qualified to give advice in these forums regardess of qualifications so what is the point in the signature? Also more and more questions are being asked that could suggest tax evasion, money laundering etc and "advisers" are falling into this "trap" and offering suggestions. So this adviser signature is both pointless and dangerous..........

The technical question should have been directed at the person who you had arranged the mortgage with, if u had time to call the person who advised you previously you had time to call the person who you had just done business with0 -
Martin's website = Martin's rules.
If you want the signature then use it, if you don't want to use the signature then you shouldn't indicate you are a broker.
Worth also noting (from the same thread):Advisers shouldn’t reply with ‘seek advice’ as a standalone answer. .......
...If brokers aren’t attempting to genuinely help the user with a specific answer and can’t offer an answer the question directly then it’s best not to answer at all.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards. The boss of this company had previously told me that I could call him whenever I liked if I wanted some help or advice. So what was I doing wrong?0 -

let's just say that the points you raise have been raised before and debated openly many times before as has the wording of the signature (you will still find the threads if you look). But there are a few of us who were here before 'the code' came into being and experienced the reasons for it being imposed.
The sensible thing to do is to adopt a 'when in Rome' attitude. To nick an argument from 'the other side' - this is not a broker site, it is not here to promote broker issues and while brokers are welcome and encouraged to post we have to remember that we best represent ourselves and our industry when we allow for the fact that not veryone sees the need for us or our services and that there will be many on here who will have reservations about the reasons why we post here.
After all, it's the forum rules. All forums have them. we are free to follow them or not post at all.I am an IFA (and boss o' t'swings idst)You should note that this site doesn't check my status as an IFA, so you need to take my word for it. I wouldnt ask feisty to arrange anything, he or she aint got a clue, and most post's are ending with you should seek advice from a advisor , i did after one of feisty's post's and it proved to me he or she hasnt got a clue.
Has for the broker trying to get 500 pound for doing nothing, it seems to have hit a nerve with feisty, maybe feisty has done the same in the past.
I think you will find feisty is on here saying in all her or his post's you should seek advice from a advisor, because he's spamming for work.
here take a look at this.
