Marmite - Don't buy it at Tesco's

I have never seen a supermarket version of Marmite, only Bovril. Don't think I've ever seen Vegemite either. I'm going to Morrisons for the first time tomorrow though so will remember to check it out.fresian_cow wrote: »I used to think this as ones I had in the past were rubbish but we got the morrisons own one last time and it's almost the same. Give it a go, if you disagree it's only a couple of quid lost but if you agree you'll save money :T0 -

More than likely, the number of this type of postings he/she is making like this.0 -
If money is no object (as it clearly cant be with that comment) may i suggest you dont need to be on this site making silly comments. moneysavingexpert.com, the clue to the thread may be in the website name.
but prices go up as well as down on items, i just dont see why creating a thread about it will do, sorry but the forums are open to anyone and everyone so dont tell me i cant post0 -

Yeah, it is outrageous! Late last year the cucumber portion was 36p, then it went up to 49p (it still was that last weekend) and now it's 65p or something. Let's just say that I won't be buying fruit and veg from my local Tesco - it is cheaper to go to my local independent fruit and veg grocers.
So much for promoting healthy eating - remember how they brought out the 99p offers couple of months ago? And I did think that most shops would use the VAT cut as an excuse to up their profits...well, the VAT cut has not inspired me at all - I'd rather see TV licenses cancelled...

And i dont see how your comment helps to those that DO want to discuss a 30% price rise. I cant tell you to post but its ok for you to post your pointless comment. As i said this is about money saving.0 -
Lidl's own brand Marmite comes pretty close to the real thing although it seems to be a little softer.0
