The bum juice comment made me lol in public today when I was checking the forum! And asda had put 500g up to £4.72 in my local tonight, I only looked because I was still thinking 'bum juice, ha ha' I cant abide the stuff!

Thanks for the tip, I'd noticed the price rocket in Tesco's but assumed the other supermarkets would have followed suit. Will stock up elsewhere!

Don't buy it at all! It's bum juice.
As a marmite fan I appreciate your sentiments and sense of humour.

Heaven forbid food prices go up,
  • We switched to vegemite a few months ago which is significantly cheaper than marmite.

My top tip is if you make homemade veggie soup, or bolognese add a tablespoon of marmite :A
  • Try a marmite and banana sandwich it's just gorgeous.

It does seem wrong, but i am almost tempted to try it. I've eaten marmite and apple sandwiches before and they were quite nice on wholemeal bread.

  • Ewww, haven't touched the stuff since I insisted on a cup of hot Bovril as a little kid and then promptly threw up all over my dad while he was eating his dinner! Nice! lol

marmite and peanut butter on toast is lovely too. Ok, I was pregnant at the time but it sustained me well for a few months :)
