Can I earn money from 0870?!?!

Hi all,
Was just wondering, when I sign up for all these competitions and freebies, it really gets on my nerves when I am forced to give a phone number until I thought about 0870 numbers.
Does anyone know a company that gives out free 0870 numbers and then pays me for everyone that calls that number? I would happily listen to sales callers all day with a smile on my face knowing they were paying me to listen to them. I would even put them on hold for a while :rotfl:
So, would it work (i.e. could I get it diverted to my mobile and still get paid for it?) and what companies can I get one from?!?!
Cheers
M

You can get a free 0870 number from https://www.yac.com (or used to be able to) but they keep all the money. If you want to get the money yourself I suppose you will have to do a deal with BT direct. Depends on how many friends you want to keep.Eh?? I give up!! Towel is getting thrown in here!

coz:
1. the call centres & companies normally bar calls to 09...@ £1.00 etc..
2. it's not legal [icstis regs..]
why not get a free 0870 or better 0871 @ 10p from https://www.contactnumbers.com
(i did! :rotfl: )
btw..: 'sgotta go to a landline otherwise the 0870 provider will charge you for the diverted call to a uk mobile or anywhere other than a landline..0 -
Some links to discussions on the Say no to 0870 Forums here on getting your own 0870/1 number.

What a brilliant idea, I love it. How about making a complete menu system with "your call is important to us, please wait whilst we read the paper" messages etc?Happy chappy0

@ DonnyDave, wicked, thanks! Thats just what I was after!!!
@ tomstickland - if you know anyone who could sort out a menu system that would send them in circles for me then i'd be very happy. In the mean time i'll just have to resort to the old "oh sorry, can you hang on a minute, the tea is burning, the kids are about to jump off the roof, the dog is killing the cat etc etc :rotfl:0 -
I was looking at doing this for home. I understand that most 0871 providers specify that it is for business purpose only, not residential.
Any home users get round this ok?0
