    Hmmm

Buying a Jap sports car is that not a bit like buying a diesel soft-top?

    Why bother?

    Get something with some soul.
A car is just a load of metal. It can't have soul.

Why bother? Er, because you can have a seriously fast car for not a huge amount of money and reliability.

I'm sure they are technically brilliant, just like German sports cars.

I have had this argument for 30 years normally against German sports cars.

And ne'r the twain shall meet.

Italian or British (not many of them left...lol).

    But why get rude?[/quote]

I just like to be aggravating at times...... ;)

Another heathen who misses the point.

You are quite correct you can have a fast car with reliability and if that is all you want that is fine.

Nah, I don't miss the point. I just don't think the point is that good. There are a lot of crap cars around that have "soul". Best of luck fixing the things rather than driving them.

Not at all, I used to have a Mk II MR2, its probably still my favourite out of all the cars I've owned. I'm sorry I had to sell it.

Love the MR2.. nothing around really to replace it. The new roadster is cr*p and just not good enough.

We still get loads of the 'oldies' coming in. Even Mk1's.. - we even have one that has under 50k on the clock - genuine. But I prefer the Mk2, more rounded in shape. Seem to get more imports in than Uk spec as the turbo version is more popular.
