Just have to stick up for Natwest here...
On 1st Dec I made a debit card transaction for £50 to Somerfield.. what with Christmas and everything approaching, I didn't check that it had gone. Somerfield *finally* took the payment on 10th January.. I didn't have enough funds in my account at the time, as I generally keep a £40 balance in my current account to prevent me spending. I transfer from my savings as and when.
Obviously the £50 debit took me overdrawn.. Natwest initially charged me £28 overdraft charges and £30 card misue fee. When I spoke to them to query why the money had been taken when it had (even the ref for the debit was 01.12.08) they told me the 6 month rule, but could see that it was a genuine error and refunded all the charges.
(Somerfield were quite useless when I raised it with them, and basically said "tough. but please do continue shopping with us.." No! lol )

It's not Natwest's fault - raise it with the company .

That was the first thing I did.I made an 02 top up with my debit card for 15 pound. The lady at 02 said they took a payment straight away for it as how would I have been credited on my phone.I still think its natwest fault taking so long to take the money from my account.Look at it this way.02 take the money straight away like i said.natwest dont do anything to my balane till days later. Its wrong I think personly.

    Over 1000 pound in debt.
    To many red letters.
    Welfare Rights helped me out.
Now I pay a little amount each month to clear debt.
    So much eaiser the pressure has been taken off me. :A :A :A :A :A :A :A

No. Sorry, just no. Here's how it works:
    1. O2 asks Natwest for the £15.
    2. Natwest says you have it.
    3. Natwest ring fences the £15.
    4. O2 give you the £15 credit because Natwest have said they can have it.
    5. O2 then request the money. They can wait and do this with lots of other small transactions to make it cheaper for them. It is cheaper to ask Natwest for one lot of £1 million than it is for 100,000 lots of £10.

'inactive brain' please 'bother' to stop bothering us with your rubbish posts, i think you must be a coward as i have noticed you love to have a go on here, go out and get a job, if you can't be constructive on here just FOOK OFF ugly

Actually Inactive posted correctly. Go back and read why he wrote what he did. The starter of this thread said, and I quote, "I still think it is NatWest's fault". He replied, did you read the replies. Because if the thread starter did, then they would have realised that it is not the bank's fault but the company deciding upon how long they are going to take to remove the money. As confirmed by Barclays Manager. So if anyone is posting rubbish, it is yourself because Inactive simply told them they should read the posts in this thread which explain why, instead of blaming the bank when they have done no wrong...

I didn't know Inactive had posted a picture.

I was imagining a David Hasselhoff type figure myself, perhaps with a Tom Selleck-esque 'tache.

Careful BM, blue1159 actually accused me of working for Barclay's as well.:D

I think he/she actually hates Barclays even more than he / she hates me.
