Am trying to burn a film to dvd0

Use dvd shrink to remove some of the extras/languages etc not needed (or SHRINK it, but that would mean a drop in quality)
http://www.filehippo.com/download_dvdshrink/314/
However, if its not YOUR disc being used as a 'backup' what your doing is illegal and not to be discussed on this forum:idea:0 -
You would probably need to re-encode the film to a slightly lower bit rate but this takes a while. Not sure what else you could do.. maybe if you're able to open the film in VirtualDub you could trim off the credits a bit and see if it's enough to get the size down.0

Don't worry it is a home video!
Thanks I'll try that.0 -
Use shrink then, I doubt you could tell a difference on a home movie even when 'shrunk' a little (Made the bitrate smaller):idea:0

Dual layer disc. You can get a box of 25 for around £15
If its juts data use winrar or the new winzip 12 as the new compression algorithms are quite good even on photos
Didnt read the 2nd post op made about what data he had. As mentioned dvdshrink is good at video you hardly loose an quality if you want dvd mpeg2
If not I use Auto Gordian Knot for backups to compress mpeg2 to mpeg4 but you do need a dvd ripper. I back up all my dvd's with dvdshrink and also with auto guardian and very high quality0 -
