Well surprise surprise, the only 2 that got accepted (so far ) are newby posters.....mmm .

Or am i just cynical ? lol

Both signed up to moneysaving expert on the day of posting, and both have settings to not receive emails, it is rather fishy isnt it, maybe worth looking at other positive postings about barclays!
Aha, so thats how you do a signature!

    I got a rejection too.
So I thought I would apply for the barclaycard platinum to see if i was accepted. Then I was gonna ask them why I was given the card and not the bank account. Surely giving me a credit card is MORE risky than giving me a bank account - isn't it?
'sides I just remembered I had a barclaycard last year so that we could pay off another credit card and we used the 0% rate and everything so how come I'm not 'credit worthy' enough for them to get a bank account?
Is there anywhere I can appeal to?
I expect another MSEer will come along in a minute and I'll be told I'm just greedy. (£100 that's 4 pairs of shoes for my kids!)
just in case you need to know:
HWTHMBO - He Who Thinks He Must Be Obeyed (gained a promotion, we got Civil Partnered Thank you Steinfeld and Keidan)
    DS#1 - my twenty-five-year old son
DS#2 - my twenty -one son
  • We got rejected said our credit rating wasn't big enough - which is rubbish as we have 2 mortgages, about 8 credit cards, 4 bank accounts, etc!!!!

    ;) Thanks!

  • Got my rejection letter too claiming that my credit rating was poor. Have no debts and have never had trouble with my credit rating before. Barclays are definitely getting cold feet and have realised their blunder!

Sorry but this might be exactly why you got rejected.
You've got enough already haven't you?

If you have no debts at all then there is no record that you can reliable make payments on time (I'm not saying you can't just that there is no evidence).

Credit scoring is sometimes don't by computer and occassionally there can be anomalies just because it's a computer program.

I got rejected for a credit card recently.
I appealed and got the card.
Obviously this won't help with the £100 offer, but if you are a genuine case you should get success through talking to a person rather than a computer.
