  • Are they stupid or what, Toto?

They can't sell it at this price, claiming it is 75% off. I am sure I never saw it before with its current inventory of contents. Further to that, did they not look at the contents of these hampers before reducing them? They clearly wanted to shift them, so what's the problem, for goodness' sakes.

If they're going to be slovenly, we have the right to take advantage, especially if they're going to be as miserly and sneaky as they are being now.

I'm going to call them today to ask when my order is likely to be dispatched, I'm very tempted to ask to speak to someone senior to ask the question about how they legally think they can remove contents and still advertise the products at 75%. I think I'll wait until my order is here before I do that though. I don't want to risk not getting my girly hamper with the ipod.

  • I wish I hadn't been so skint or I'd have leapt on one of those girly hampers. I'd have sold the nail polish off as I don't want that, so in the end it would have ended up costing me even less than the £275 (I factored in the delivery charge).

I'm going to sell the books and dvds on amazon because none of them are of much interest to me. I might sell some of the nail varnishes too but I'm going to make up pamper hampers for christmas for all of the women I usually buy for so some will go in there. I really could do with a new ipod though mine fell down the loo so is a bit b*ggered :) I'm a musician and sometimes use an ipod for samples etc, it was one of the reasons I jumped at the girly one, I'll not be a happy camper if I don't get it.

  • I'd buy the Vogue book and luxe books if you were to get rid of them....if you get them!

They are frantically trying to wrestle your Ipod back from the staff and retrieve the original box from recycling to send it in!

  • Is the girly one still a worth while purchase at that price? (thinking valentines day present) ?

I think it makes a lovely valentines day pressie and yeah I think it's still good value for money considering the nail varnishes retail at 8.50 each and the eve skincare stuff is worth about £100. I would call them though and ask why there is no ipod included when the hamper is the same price. As we've said, it has never been on sale without the ipod at the higher price so they shouldn't legally be advertising it at 75% off. Really without the ipod it should be £225 which is 75% of £900 or more to the point they should not be removing contents like this. I would have thought putting an ipod in would be a lot cheaper and less hassle than having trading standards investigating them.

Would I buy it now? No, because I think they have a damned cheek removing contents. But that is entirely up to you.

Has anyone received their hamper yet?

..and no I wouldn't buy the girly hamper at £250 as a valentines gift.

I popped out to collect my little one from nursery at 12 and missed a City Link delivery. It must be my Best of British hamper delivery...just typical.

I ordered it on Tuesday morning so a 3 day delivery time then.
