I agree with the poster above. I stopped myself from quickly popping an order through for the kids heaven hamper.
After looking at the contents decided it wasn't really worth the £26.25 it would cost including postage.
Who on earth would have paid £75.00 for it?
No wonder they are left with some!
Thanks to OP though. Might be good for someone?!
My sentiments exactly, who the heck buys these at full price  :eek:0 -
I'm wondering if I'll get the ipod or not, wish I'd payed for next day delivery now, it was only £2 extra. Anway, if you add one to the basket the description says ultimate girls hamper without ipod. mine just says ultimate girls hamper, my status is awaiting despatch, so really they have to include the ipod don't they?:A

If they don't, here is your argument.
'I saw these originally advertised at £1000, including an Ipod, and took a list of the contents. The one I bought states 75% off, original price £1000 [and did not make any reference to not including the Ipod]. I can't see anything contained in this hamper which wasn't on the original list, and yet I have no Ipod. Also I didn't see any hamper advertised as a girls hamper without an Ipod before Christmas. Could you please explain how the original price was £1000 when the original £1000 one contained an Ipod? Isn't this false advertising?'
(The Trade Description Act says that the product has to have been on sale for 28 days in the past 6 months to be advertised as a reduction. If the hamper hasn't been on sale without the Ipod, they have no business advertising it as a 75% reduction).Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -

sorry have not purchased just looking through,
Jobbingmusician, you are quite correct, it is false representation of a product or what they have constructing can be misleading,
They have never offered this newly constructed product at £1000
They have never price established this product!
So yes under the 'Trade Descriptions Act' they are misleading,
This 'New Product' for £250 has been created!, so using a technicality might and I stress might give you scope for negotiating with them!
Call them quoting the act and mention you have taken local advice!
Good Luck!0 -

I told them this today, that the hamper is now only worth £900!!!! So 75% off would make it £225, and they seemed to agree. they haven't changed it tho. Poor Selfridges, if only they knew what a terrible bunch we are.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Save me from spending...

I wouldnt feel too sorry for Selfridges.
No way were those hampers worth the original price.
I just looked at the mother's ruin hamper. I mean a pair of marigolds, biscuits & gin for 55 pounds. Rip off. Dont think my mum would be too pleased if I bought her marigolds for a pressie.0 -
