"Different" Centerpiece Ideas??

Hi there, i recently spoke to a lady who had rather strange centrepieces..... \she had round glass bowls filled with white stones, water and a goldfish. Then the children at the wedding got to take the fish home and apparently they are still alive today! I never heard of that before! She said it kept the kids really quite during the meal!0

How about 'sweetie trees' as your centre pieces?
Go to the park and find some branches (should be plenty with the recent high winds). Paint or leave natural, place in vase or pot to keep upright and decorate with sweets wraped in colours to match your theme and/or attach small tags (luggage tags or similar) for guests to write messages on.
You can make them as elaborate or simple as you like but they should work out quite inexpensive.0 -

We had koi in bowls on the tables with glass nuggets standing on mirrors and they looked fantastic. DD1 took a couple home with her and the rest are now in our pond with their older and much bigger friends. They were replaced with gerbera for the evening though so they weren't affected by the music.
We also had a koi as a wedding present
There's a picture on my thread Mrs P with picsOfficially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

You could always hire some ostrich lamps. These are tall, elegant lamps with ostrich feathers at the top of the vase bit (sorry it is the only way I can describe them).0

How about these? I saw them on another forum.

My venue supplies tablecloths, napkins and vases for flowers, but I have bought personalised serviettes (got our names and date on them) and have made my own decorations with foam roses and small glass goldfish bowls to match my colour scheme.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. I'd love to have these as my centrepeices but couldn't really afford to spend that much. I wonder if I could make something similar if I played around enough? I think they look lovely and make either nice nibbles or an alternative to dessert

I seen something on a TV show a while back where they were making edible centrepeices. They hollowed out some large round loaves and coming out of the middle was chorizo sausage, chunks of cheese, grapes etc iyswim. It looked a lot nicer than how I describe it!! The idea was they were using that as a starter.0 -
Re the goldfish I think this idea is okay if you keep it simple and don't add lots of stuff to the bowl. This idea was suggested on another forum and lots of people thought it was cruel if you put flowers etc in it. Someone also pointed out that they will poo which isn't pleasant lolI have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off
