"Different" Centerpiece Ideas??

My friend bought white fabric from the market, £1 metre and she then made the cloths herself. These cloths were first used for when my son and her daughter married and have been used at least 10 times since for weddings within our circle of friends. If you have an aunt/mum etc that can sew then why not ask them to make the cloths for you.
Thanks for that idea - MIL2B is making the smaller b/m dresses so would be able to do that, it's just finding a market that sells fabric anywhere near me! Cheapest i think I can get it is £2 p/m from an indian fabric warehouse type place in London that a family member sourced the b/m dresses material from, but I can't go up there anytime soon to look at the colours.0 -
What area of the UK are you from as there will be a market or factory shop somewhere near you. I live in Yorkshire and it's always worth a visit to Abakhan in Manchester for fabric etcNothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

We're having a japanese theme - cheap £2 IKEA vases (bought even cheaper on ebay) and 5 pieces of curly bamboo (again IKEA 89p a piece) which are tied together to effectively make a thick stem, standing in some small pebbles and water...
Kind of like this http://www.eden4flowers.co.uk/content/content_prod_detail.asp?id=339&idarea=1&idareacat=22&idareacatsub=247# but cooler ;o)0 -
These always seem pretty good on prices so might be worth a look for your linen

I am having sweets on my tables. I got some big wicker baskets with long handles. I plan on wrapping the handles in ribbon and lining them with tissue paper. I then have lots of table confetti. Might put a coloured slip cloth under them too. Also putting strings of three balloons on every other table.0 -
ooooo nice!

I'm also struggling on what to have as the centrepieces, and there's been lots of great ideas on here!
As we are trying to do our wedding 50's rock 'n' roll style, one of my ideas is to get a large sundae/ice-cream dish, fill it with red and white jelly bellys to match the colour theme (you could buy lilac colours to match your theme), add a large spoon to the dish and then place it on top of an old record in the centre of the table. Just an idea, I love jelly belly's and you can buy them in just the colours you need!

I dont know how pricey it would be but my friend had gold fish bowls on her tables as centre pieces. They even coordinated the coloured pebbles at the bottom which looked great. I have to say that they were moved for the evening reception however in case there were any accidents!!0

Hi I did a search but it was all a bit vague. I suggest you go to your nearest big town market and check out the stalls there. I can't ever remember going to a market that doesn't have at least 1 fabric stall. Also try ebay for "roll of fabric" this might helpNothing Changes if Nothing Changes0
