You can download AVG while you still have Norton, but don't install it (open and run the file you download) until you have uninstalled Norton.
Hope that helps.

Computers won't work if you have more than one anti-virus product/package installed and running at the same time. You must uninstall Norton AV before you install AVG otherwise you might mess up your PC and have trouble fixing it :wall:0

I f you do go with a freebie you MUST get a firewall aswell
this is where it can all go a bit wrong as AVG doesnt have an
inbuilt firewall.. List Here. http://www.intels.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/0 -
Norton Antivirus doesn't contain a firewall. Norton Internet Security does. There is quite a difference between these packages. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

There can be problems completely uninstalling Norton. Have a look at these two recent threads on this forum for help in completely removing it:

That is pure misinformation. I have Norton and AVG working fine on 3 machines and have done so for 3 years. There *may* be some issues between certain av's but not those two....................."Success is not to be measured by the position someone has reached in life, but the obstacles he has overcome while trying to succeed."
