What to give little bridemaids to carry?

Hi,

We are wondering what to give the little bridesmaids at my sisters wedding to carry. They are both going to be just turned 3 years old (and muggins here is going to be in charge of the little 'darlings'!) and we didnt really think they would want to carry flowers.

Looking through wedding magazines for ideas we have seen some carry teddy bears - never heard of this before!!

Has anyone any ideas? Would be grateful!

Mine carried little dolly bags. BHS sold some for about £7 each and my mum sewed some little flowers on them that matched their dresses. Very cute.

does she mean drawstring bags? Dolls and teddies are quite commonly given to flower girls now, I was bridesmaid at a wedding the other week where our little flower girl was given a wand with a flower on the top, she loved it because she felt like a princess. They had the florist make it up for them to match our bouquets.

I had two big bridesmaids and a little one. The little one carried a ball made of flowers, on a ribbon, which just hung over her arm.

When I was a 2 year old bridesmaid, I had a little lace bag which I've still got!

I was also a bridesmaid at 5 and carried a small basket of fresh flowers. I loved that too, and my Mam swopped the fresh flowers for silk ones when they died so I could keep it. Unfortunately it got crushed when I moved house :(
Here I go again on my own....

Sorry, dolly bags are just drawstring bags really but quite small.

They did sell them in the bridal section of BHS and probably in lots of other places as well.

By the end of the day though all the little ones had quite a collection in their bags, leaves, flowers, confetti, food......

  • DD (aged 3 at the time) carried a basket at my sister's wedding. Someone else suggested balloons at the time.

She hired a bouncy castle for the kids (and the grown up kids) at the reception which was great as it kept them entertained while the photos were going on.
"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee."

i was a few years older than the little ones you have when i was a bridesmaid, but they made up hoops with ribbons and flowers for us to hold onto - not very big, but it was my favourite toy for a little while afterwards!
