Well I rang the Helpline yesterday to follow up my claim as I hadn't heard anything (I posted it at the end the January).
The lady said that claims will not be processed until after 6th April and payment won't be made until May at the earliest.
So much for the grant being for health in pregnancy as my baby is due on 6th April!Hopeless by name, hopeless by nature.0 -

Being devils advocate here but do you reckon they would give it to you if you were early?! :rotfl:0 -
fuzzgun19, was not being stroppy with you! was more pe'ed off at the situation. don't want to take this thread off topic but sometimes you feel there is no point actually working
Well one of the best things about working I find is it stops busy bodies calling me scum.
If you really think life on the dole is that great go for it! The great thing about benefits is they are available to all. I never understand why all the whingers don't just go for it. Unless of course deep down they know it is a really horrible way to live.0 -

I kind of agree that maybe it could be given by mid wives at certain stages in the form of supermarket vouchers and the sure start vouchers in say babies r us/mothercare vouchers or something so that the real intent of them are being utilised.
Not everyone uses supermarkets or large chain retailers though.I would find the value of the vouchers seriously depleted if I had to use them in certain stores. My budget is so tight I seriously shop around.0 -

Anybody that wants to take advantage of this offer that doesn't meet the criteria then I'm more than happy to help out free of charge.

Sorry but that's my view. If it went this way lots of retailers would want to get in on the action anyway.0 -
