The Times do a student deal: 25p a copy from Monday to Friday. You need to register your details for them to send but the link is:
    http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/education/student/student_discount_vouchers/
    End Quote

They send you 24 vouchers, you can request 15 sets per year!, the paper is 90p so coupons must be for 65p. Despite the title the T&C do not state you need to be a student and application form does not ask if you are one.

this is the policy i recieved yesterday why so many differnt copies.........

    Asylum Seeker Vouchers
We do accept asylum seeker vouchers and they can be used to purchase anything in store.
    Manufactures Coupons
We accept money off coupons, but you do need to buy the product shown on the coupon.
e.g. 24 x 10p coupons off Heinz baked beans - customer must purchase 24 cans of Heinz baked beans.
However, if the coupon is for a "free packet or box etc" then it is 1 per customer.
    Branded Vouchers
If you have a voucher for a set amount from a branded company you can spend it on any product in our stores just as long as we stock that brand.
For example you may have a £10 Kellogg's voucher. We stock Kellogg's products so you can buy anything you want with your Kellogg's voucher even if the product you want isn't made by Kellogg's.
We'd like you to spend the full amount of the voucher but it's up to you, if you would like change from your voucher then that's no problem at all.
    ASDA's Own Coupons
ASDA coupons (ones that show our name, often are found in the ASDA Magazine) can only be redeemed if you have actually bought the product shown on the coupon.
    Number of Coupons per Transaction
There's no limit on the amount of coupons you can use per transaction unless it is stated on the coupon.
    Milk Tokens
Milk token have now been replaced by the healthy start vouchers.
    Healthy Start Vouchers
Children in low income families, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers may receive vouchers under the healthy start government initiative. These vouchers can be redeemed on the following:
    • Milk (plain cows milk either whole, semi, semi skimmed milk), pasteurised, sterilised and long life.
    • Infant formula milk that is based on cows milk and states on the packaging that can be used from birth
    • Fresh fruit and vegetables (excludes pre cooked, frozen, dried or canned fruit and vegetables)
    Luncheon Vouchers
We accept luncheon vouchers as payment, or part payment.
We don'tgive change on luncheon vouchers.
We don't accept luncheon vouchers as payment for alcohol products alone.

    Internet Coupons
We accept Internet Coupons under the same stringent conditions as old style manufacturers' coupons:
1 That they are in date
    2. They are not specific to different retailers (non Asda)
    3. We stock the product

One temporary rule until we decide a more comprehensive policy is-
Only 1 internet coupon per product item in any single transaction - Unless the customer actually buys the product and in multiples that reflect the number of coupons tendered.

This may be of use to some of you!

    Thank you for your message.

    Dear Miss ,

The new coupon acceptance policy is as follows.

We will accept all manufacturers' coupons (including internet coupons) in line with the terms and conditions of each coupon I.e. Customers must buy the product to redeem the coupon.

There is no limit to the number of coupons that can be redeemed in a transaction, as long as they are redeemed against the product specified e.g. 24 x 10p coupons off Heinz baked beans - customer must purchase 24 cans of Heinz baked beans.

    1. The coupon must be 'in date'
    2. The coupon must not be for a specific retailer other than ASDA. e.g. 20p off toothpaste at Tesco
    3. The customer must have purchased the product

Each coupon has a bar code, which should be scannable.

    Self Scan
All coupons tendered at self-scan will now require authorisation. This means that with each coupon scanned, the system will automatically trigger an intervention and the host must authorise.

I hope that this information will help you.

    Kind Regards
    Lisa Schofield

  • Just had a run in with Tesco about the Brides coupon (the £3.70), and they refused to accept it, even though they scanned it.

The cashier called the supervisor who was "unsure" as the voucher was not listed in the coupon book that they have behind the till, so she called the manager, who said no as (paraphrasing) "they can't accept vouchers that specify a product for a certain price, unlike vouchers that give £x off.". Despite the voucher in the T&C stating that the coupon was worth £3.70.

The manager also wanted to block the other coupons I used because I had not purchased the products, both me and the supervisor told her that the coupons were fine.

Eventually, it came down to filling in the coupon, which I refused, so the cashier cancelled the Brides coupon.

Unfortunately I needed all the things I bought, so had to pay.

At least I learnt a lesson, always bring backup coupons incase one/some get rejected.

thanks m4rtin, the SA tried to scan it with the conventional scanner and then the hand held one but no joy, other Moc's including the brides £3.70 went thru fine, will try the compeed again next time i visit....
  • Is this the printable Compeed voucher? I always assume it didn't work at Tesco so have never tried it - perhaps varies from store to store?
  • Not been around for a few days - came on and wandered around aimlessly cos I couldn't find the no chat thread. Wondered what on earth had happened to it! But now I see it's all back as 1 thread again :T :T :T :T So thanks to the mods for going with the vote, and thanks to honey for taking over the upkeep of it.
