here is the new policy at ASDA

as quoted from email i have from them today
    Thank you for your message.

    Dear

    Thank you for your email

The new coupon acceptance policy is as follows.

We will accept all manufacturers' coupons (including internet coupons) in line with the terms and conditions of each coupon I.e. Customers must buy the product to redeem the coupon.

There is no limit to the number of coupons that can be redeemed in a transaction, as long as they are redeemed against the product specified e.g. 24 x 10p coupons off Heinz baked beans - customer must purchase 24 cans of Heinz baked beans.

    1. The coupon must be 'in date'
    2. The coupon must not be for a specific retailer other than ASDA. e.g. 20p off toothpaste at Tesco
    3. The customer must have purchased the product

Each coupon has a bar code, which should be scannable.

    Self Scan

All coupons tendered at self-scan will now require authorisation. This means that with each coupon scanned, the system will automatically trigger an intervention and the host must authorise.

Thanks again for your email and I hope this answers all your concerns

    Kind Regards

    Tracey Shiel
    ASDA Service Team

oh well nice while it latsed.

could someone please update the policy on first page of thread
    many thanks
Dont forget that little Thanks button , only takes a sec

Wish they'd brought my missus up!!:D:D

I am happy to have helped and hope that I contribute from time to time, obviously making errors along the way but hopefully without malice but I do take exception to those that just want to come on here grab the links from the front page and not actually contribute to the 'Forum' and don't want to have to wade through the 'Chat' which is what a forum is about.

Basically to end my contribution to this discussion I'm sure we don't post for the reps but they do show appreciation and if you don't feel appreciated you eventually think I'm alright Jack! Finding these links takes a lot of time (Some are blatantly nicked from pts (tit for tat)) and some appreciation wouldn't go amiss IMHO Anyway..

I was taught that it is better to give than to receive. To give without expecting anything in return... If people only post because they want their thanked total to go up and be seen to go up I think that is sad. If I stumble across something worth posting I do so - the reward is in knowing I may be helping others in a similar situation or worse situation than myself. "Kindness is it's own reward." I agree that it is nice to be thanked and I like it myself but it is obvious by the number of people viewing the posts that it's only a small minority that remember to press the thanks button. Please don't anyone be angry about it ...be happy to have helped.
Was trying to out how long it takes to click on the 'thanks' link...and you know what, it's so quick it must be less than a nano second...so I think it's no trouble at all for people to say thanks, and it means that the people doing most of the work seeking out coupons and adding all sorts of valuable info and help do feel as though there some peeps out there appreciating them., if they can find the time to post , then you can find the time to say 'thankyou'...come on lets face it it...it ain't going hurt you now ,is it?
I think it a little mean spirited that you should suggest that people like to see their scores of 'thanks' go up...if that was the only reward they sought I dont think they would bother to post anything...they do it to help others...honestly...just accept the fact that there really are people out there that like helping others, so a 'thanks' now and again is a small price to pay for the money that is being saved by one and all.

Well looks like my couponing days are over. Went to main branch of Tesco Hemel Hempstead today to do my weekly shop, usually go to same cashier each time ( have done for last 4 months ) as know he takes coupons. Wasn't in today so went to some old jobsworth who refused any coupon I had not bought product for. I complained so he asked team leader who happened to be passing and she said they haven't taken coupons like that for 2 years. Funny said I, as your cs dept e-mail claims otherwise and I pulled it out to show her. She sent me to cs who called head office who said its 5 years since they took coupns. She told me story of woman who had bought £50 vacuum from them using coupons then tried to bring back for cash refund which they refused. She said using coupons was tantamount to fraud. I said I worked for Tesco so trying to defraud the company that paid my wage was not exactly beneficial to me. She said manager said no and I could put in writing to manager if still not happy. I want to do this, mainly as I don't appreciate being accused of fraud ( as Tesco can claim money back surely only people missing out are manufacturer). However, dilemma is that I work for an express and want to be transferred to the main store and think complaining might ruin my chances. What do you guys think?

It seems to be a hazard of couponing to be refused the use of coupons every now and then. This has happened to me and most people on here and can make you feel irritated and annoyed at the time.Personally I put it down to bad luck and try again the next time Im shopping in Tesco but remember to use another cashier. Im not sure its worth making too much of this as the more people that complain and make a fuss the more likely they are going to stop coupon usage.

I agree whole-heartedly with you judy2357. I was just really annoyed with my local Tesco's by the very bad attitude from the staff. I must say that I was really surprised with the recent change of attitude in the staff as they were usually very pleasant until about Oct of last year. I have been shopping there for the past ten years and the change in attitude was very obvious. So I was determined not to have to step foot in that store again and I found another Tesco not too much further than my local Tesco and best thing is at the new store they take all coupons without having to buy the item, which my local changed the rules to having to buy item back about Sep/Oct and just a few days ago stopped taking internet coupons all together! And the Staff at the new store are really nice! Bonus!!!!!

So best to find an alturnative from the store you use now to another and not say anything. The number of times I told hubby I was going to write to Head Office! Then I cool off and decide to show my anger by using my feet to go elsewhere for my shopping. They lose out on my money and the sales, two birds with one stone!

Hi Just been to my local tesco ( chesterfield road,Mansfield ) notice up saying as from 1st Feb they will no longer be accepting any internet coupons.

Is it just for that store or is this from Head Office?

Hopefully not lol. I had a copy of the policy from head office last week as we had a run in wit a horrible member of staff at our local tescos and complained about her as it wasnt the first time she had treated us badly and there was no mention of the policy changing nationwide. The only thing it said was that it was the stores discresion about internet coupons.

We tend to try an use several tescos in the area not the same one everyday so hopefully they don;t get to fed up of us lol!!!!

Oh and on a different note thank you for the new thread and everyone who contributes it's great and I love reading all the posts.

    Happy couponing xxxxxx

I have visited this store today and didnt see any notice. Does anyone know why? is it due to abuse?

It wasnt that long ago since they restricted usage to 5 coupons per day. This is bad news.

What about the Oak Tree Lane store?

"it ain't going hurt you now ,is it?""just accept the fact that there really are people out there that like helping others,"..You have made your post personal - I did my best not to make my post personal. I agree with you & I do say thanks often ...my point was don't get angry if people don't say thanks & I really do like helping others, in fact I spent 4 years of my life working with refugees full time without pay....
