That would explain a few things.
1/ People have reported recent price hikes in cds and dvds, obviously due to tesco now offering 20% off thier recently inflated prices making it the same price as it was before.
And
2/ The price hikes went on for the reason above but nobody bothered to remove the stickers off the cds and dvds when they were at the original price, hence all the R&Rs we have had.
Mr T how silly do you think we are.Watch out, you never know who is about.0 -

I agree with you on this one and have had no trouble claiming my R&Rs.Watch out, you never know who is about.0 -

personally i have found tesco to be very honest with their R&Rs in the past, and have never even had a manager consulted. this is an exception, i am furious and i am not backing down!! :jMonthly Food Budget: out of the window0 -
tis what I figured really, 20% off at the till means no more R+R on cd's / dvd's
lets just hope that tesco don't expand the trials of the E-ink SEL systems quickly or there will be no more price errors
only ever had one problem with an R+R on PS2 game Medal of honour, the manager was polite, but an idiot and it was midnight ;-), went back in the morning and got my money back no problemmoney saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

I know what you mean. The attitude af the staff differs drastically from store to store. Im off out now to try and get me a sony hifi, and perhaps 1 or 2 other things. Goodluck.Watch out, you never know who is about.0

haha good luck xavier, try and get 2 like i did!! granted none were for me (one for my friend, and one for my girlfriend's brother - my model's better!), but nonetheless, you can't argue with nearly 140 quid saved!Monthly Food Budget: out of the window0 -

The Lower price is displayed in the first instance, someone gets over charged, they get a refund - then the staff just take away the special offer sign/lower price sticker & leave the original instead of taking away the higher price an altering the till to reflect the actual offer - meaning all customers essentialy get over charged - they just don't know!
This happened a few weeks ago on topside/silverside beef - in all Tesco's other than mine & on line it was reduced by about 50p a Lb but at mine there were no offer signs & no SEL - just higher price joints with short sell by dates
Please keep in mind that 99% of the time when an overcharge happens its because the system price is right but the shelf edge label is wrong. So the customer is being charged the 'correct' price. However when the incorrect shelf edge label is up we are advertising the wrong price (the illegal bit).
(minor addition) When this occurs does anyone check to see if this product should be on promotion at your store? It does happen very occasionally that prices don't change at a store when they should however this should be fairly obvious to your FMC team if and when it does happen.0 -

I heard this talked about before but I'm never sure if its true or if its "The evil company are out to get me.". What might be interesting is if you can tell me a store and the barcode of a CD I can see what price changes have happened on that product. I don't want to risk getting myself into any kind of trouble at work but I don't think its unreasonable to tell if you if the prices did go up to balance the 20% reduction.0 -

All joking aside it must be hard making any money in cd business now with downloads available so cheaply of free coff coff.
I'm trying to dispose of my cd racks because of sheer space they take up in my tiny semi but worthless.0
