Afternoon,
Manged to hoover the living room, under everything, sofas the lot. DS3 currently playing so can't sort anymore toys at present. I don't mind, he's not great at playing so it's good to see.
Did my birdwatch whilst making lunch and washing up - loads of birds visited so I've uploaded my results. It was lovely to stand and stare out the window.
Just going to have a cuppa then off to the library/recycling and might pop to Lidl - see how I feel when I'm out cause I'm a bit ropey right now - maybe some chocolate will help. Kids have decluttered most of the food in the house! The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

have cleaned the floors!! Yay, only took 15 mins after all that putting off. I plan to get a mop so it will be easy to do every week. Had a slight disaster though in that when I was doing the bathroom floor I decided to also wipe the ledge that boxes in the pipes as it gets really dusty so easily. Managed to drop the heavy electronic bathroom scales right on my finger. It actually made me cry it hurt do much and DH heard the bang from the study! Base of my nail has gone black and it's a bit swollen but I don't think its broken. Have also just done the car tax and I don't think DH will get his bits done today but as it's the study where I never really go I don't mind. It's ok in there really, perfectly tidy just needs a dust! Final update of my list:

Flylady_Flower wrote: »Evening classes are not too bad - free (well about £8) if your on JSA or some other benefits (not child allowance, they wouldn't let me get away with that... ) In my area I think they worked out about £120 for a years course (you can usually pay in installments too) and you come away with a C&G certificate at the end - a good start and great fun... but the best bit about them is that they give you a taster, you will know whether you have talent or a flair for it at the end and there are loads of people there who don't want to be professional ID's and just want some ideas for their own homes, so don't feel like you would be useless and not worthy (and just ignore anything anyone tells you otherwise - Mum's and toxic friends included!!!)
The woody thing around the middle is a dado, loads of houses have them and they can look quite nice if you do them properly. If you take it off, the wallpapers probably won't meet - they are usually cut up to the wood only... it would be a lot of work to remove them too, and usually leaves holes in the walls where it was screwed/nailed on and if it was glued on, you can remove chunks of plaster when trying to get it off - loads of hassle... I would leave it there, a good way to make it look better is paint it white the same as all the other woodwork, or in the same colour as the wall you are painting, but I would say white is best.
Have PM'd back and will be in touch soon...
Off shopping in a minute, see you soon... x
'unfortunately' we don't get any benefits - apparently oh earns too well- we still can't afford anything really  [sigh]
thanks about the dado (i should have known that) - won't rip it off!! although OH was way too eager to start on it :rotfl:
Forget that... what does she know
Have a look for courses at your local college - they're usually pretty reasonable, and quite often have concessions of various kinds. The problem usually is fitting them in... but think of it as an investment in making it easier to sell your house!
Dado rail... I'd get flower's advice on this - it may be easier to leave it on and just paint it the same colour or another neutral to tone in - I've also painted my curtain poles the same colour as the wall to avoid them being a 'feature'!
Got up and opened ALL the windows as I had fish for supper last night (remind me not to do that again until summer ), had breakfast, went to Pilates and decided to skip yoga as I have so much to do today and would have spent the class stressing about it...
... came back to find a message from the friend who was coming over this afternoon to say she's ill and won't be coming (and she sounds it), so it's just my brother & his fiancee which makes it a bit easier from the flying point of view (they won't come upstairs for a start )...
Have now hoovered the living room, hall, loo, kitchen & utility, and washed the floor in the kitchen/loo/hall. Stairs are half hoovered. And as I didn't actually get much of upstairs hoovered last night (just the mattress), I'm planning on doing the floors up here then having lunch before working out what needs doing after that!
unfortunatly OH works a silly shift (each week is different on a forthnightly rota iykwim) - so i can't attend any weekly courses; and with the kids being home most of the time it's tricky too. BUT dd has finally started her 12.5 hrs nursery (same hours as ds) - so i might find something for that?!?
thanks for all the tips!
you DO like hoovering, right?!?:rotfl: - seems like you've got everything under control. sounds like you get everything clean in tidy in no time :T
toots 12 days now sweets/choc
