    I'm still in the middle of doing littleys room - 3 big bags of rubbish and 1 big bag for charity, made the daft mistake of telling littley what I'd done so far so now she's up there going through the charity bag taking everything out.. I could spit! there's no way on earth she's is keeping it all, her room is bulging with stuff, it's time to be ruthless.

    Just having a tab break and a cuppa and I'll get back up there.....:rolleyes:

    funny enough when i was in school i toyed with becoming an interior designer - only my mum told me i'd be useless at it :eek:
    i'd love to study but i have no clue how you all can affort that :confused:
    did you work on your jumper yesterday?!? - i kind of like knitting but i would never wear anything i've made myself :D
    oh and i remembered what you call that wallpaper - textured :o ... i think :rolleyes: !
    btw, the walls downstairs have this seperater wooden thingy in the middle all the way round. what will i find underneath it? will the 2 wallpapers fit nicely together or will it have covered up mistakes?!?

    flower you are a star! pm'ed you back!

    Evening classes are not too bad - free (well about £8) if your on JSA or some other benefits (not child allowance, they wouldn't let me get away with that...;) ) In my area I think they worked out about £120 for a years course (you can usually pay in installments too) and you come away with a C&G certificate at the end - a good start and great fun... but the best bit about them is that they give you a taster, you will know whether you have talent or a flair for it at the end and there are loads of people there who don't want to be professional ID's and just want some ideas for their own homes, so don't feel like you would be useless and not worthy (and just ignore anything anyone tells you otherwise - Mum's and toxic friends included!!!)

    The woody thing around the middle is a dado, loads of houses have them and they can look quite nice if you do them properly. If you take it off, the wallpapers probably won't meet - they are usually cut up to the wood only... it would be a lot of work to remove them too, and usually leaves holes in the walls where it was screwed/nailed on and if it was glued on, you can remove chunks of plaster when trying to get it off - loads of hassle... I would leave it there, a good way to make it look better is paint it white the same as all the other woodwork, or in the same colour as the wall you are painting, but I would say white is best.

    Have PM'd back and will be in touch soon... ;)

    Off shopping in a minute, see you soon... x

    Have a look for courses at your local college - they're usually pretty reasonable, and quite often have concessions of various kinds. The problem usually is fitting them in... but think of it as an investment in making it easier to sell your house!

    Dado rail... I'd get flower's advice on this - it may be easier to leave it on and just paint it the same colour or another neutral to tone in - I've also painted my curtain poles the same colour as the wall to avoid them being a 'feature'!

    greenbee you hoover at midnight?!?!?
    erm... yes... why not?!:o

    TAG - congratulations on clearing out the 'scary cupboard' - it sounds like you've just increased the size of you house by one bedroom :rotfl:

    kazw - enjoy bicester village - I was there a couple of weeks ago and managed to pick up a skirt for work and a bit of china in Wedgewood's closing down sale. Bicester Avenue is also supposed to be good for household/garden stuff (it has a lakeland!), and I'm planning on nipping in there next weekend as I'm off to a christening a coupld of miles away.

    Toots - well done on your list. Maybe you should make your knitting your macaw as it'll take a while, and let us pick some other numbers for smaller tasks so that you still feel you are making progress. And we want a picture of the knitting when its done :D

    Got up and opened ALL the windows as I had fish for supper last night (remind me not to do that again until summer :rolleyes: ), had breakfast, went to Pilates and decided to skip yoga as I have so much to do today and would have spent the class stressing about it...

    ... came back to find a message from the friend who was coming over this afternoon to say she's ill and won't be coming (and she sounds it), so it's just my brother & his fiancee which makes it a bit easier from the flying point of view (they won't come upstairs for a start :D )...

    Have now hoovered the living room, hall, loo, kitchen & utility, and washed the floor in the kitchen/loo/hall. Stairs are half hoovered. And as I didn't actually get much of upstairs hoovered last night (just the mattress), I'm planning on doing the floors up here then having lunch before working out what needs doing after that!

    Pigpen - hope you have a lovely time with your sister & niece
  • Just a brief visit, I have finally got this horrible cold :mad: so have just got up for some more medication, then going back to bed. I am desperatley trying to dose myself up because I have my MRI scan tomorrow & can't afford to be coughing when in the scanning machine, you have to keep very still:eek: so any spare 'positive vibes' that I can shift it by then would be appreciated :A

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~positive get well vibes on their way for you LadyL - good luck tomorrow!~~~~~~~~~~~~~:A :A
    Just a quick one - any of you that have children (born April 1986 - April 2003) should check here to see if you are entitled to anything... MUST BE DONE BEFORE JANUARY 31ST!!!!
