I was going to use this company (so glad I didn't) but google'd them first and read the crappy reports (I said it before and I'll say it again - google is your friend) instead I used www.hattongardenmetals.com

I sent via special delivery and recieved an email within 24hrs confirming the weight, price etc and that they had paid the money into my bank, and sure enough they had!

I got £215 for my chain - please see my earlier post.

Sorry to hear you got ripped off by these scam merchants.

Thanks - just out of interest, what search parameters did you use on Google to find customer feedback of Cashforyourgold? And for that matter the site you used?
I tried to find just that before taking the plunge but just found loads of ads and references to similar sites. I agree Google can be a big help, but it can also be most frustrating if you're after a quick straight answer!
  • I went to get something else in a london branch a took my kitchen scale in case. Despite the fact that i knew that there where none in stock, i was able to take a look at one that was reserved for someone else. 11g exactly if this can be an incentive for the interested people. I believe that Argos stated 100g to make fun of us and get revenge for the mispriced chain:D  :D

    I managed to get one of each today - 100g & 70g.
I took the bigger one to nearby jeweler who confirmed the weight at 11.2g and offered me £52 for it.
    I didn't get the smaller weighed but I would guess around 7 - 8g.

  • yer i picked up the "70g" one, i think it weighed 4g at the most!! lol I looked at the 100g one, and was no where near that! - so to quote me in an earlier post "it is too good to be true" - but anyone else thinking about mis-advertisement??? I mean, its misleading - though Im happy I got the original chain, so am happy with the few quid i made.
  • ooo, and also in store I noticed a sign saying sorry about the mis price of the original chain, and sorry for any inconveniance!!!! hee hee

They had a notice in my Argos apologising for the mis-price too, saying it was a mistake.

Hi just posted this on another money saving site if you will, thought id post here as ive found many a bargain here too,,,, Payback from me

Argos in there new promotion book have the 1oz 31g Solid Gold curb chain down from a rrp of 599.99 to 254.49 and now to just £134.99

considering the price of a 1/2oz chain is £131.99
    & 2oz chain is £489.39

This looks like a misprice which should have read £234.99

Anyway judge for your selfs looks ok to me.

managed to pick one of these chains up last monday , had been looking for a chain for my dads 5oth birthday, looks like my sister was right to get it then and there and not wait for this week.

    Hi all,

I'm looking to send my 3 chains off to hattongardenmetals.com today
and was wondering how other moneysavers have been packing there gold
    ready to send special delivery.

Obviously i want to spend as little as possible on postage but also want the package to be secure as possible.

    Thanks in advance
