Lol on the 3D tetris regarding storing the shopping away. After a particularly difficult 'how to cram all the whoopsied freezer stuff' into the already full-ish freezer I stepped away and did a smile and a nod a la Krypton Factor. :rotfl:

I have lousy timing. Arrived at school with DD2 at the same time as the unexpected routine water testers and spent a dull hour escorting them around nodding a lot. Yes of course I've turned the water boiler off for the entire summer, no I'm not overly concerned about the possibility of legionaries disease striking whilst I'm washing a paintbrush thanks to my miserly ways which save school around 3K in gas over 7 weeks. Gosh really and you'd recommend I didn't do that. Yeah right mate. And the waters too hot and the labels telling people this are the wrong size and colour and in the wrong place. To quote the legendary Vikki Pollard "Am I bovvered?"

DD2 had a whale of a time playing in her private swimming pool sized ball pool until its owners arrived for the day. We departed rapidly at that point and blew £110 at Mr. Ts (mostly on whoopsied vino) via Halfords where DD2 decided to try riding a bike without stabilisers. So determined was she that she'd really like a new pink big girls bike that she phoned the OH and left a message on the answerphone asking him to take her stabilisers off. Got home to find he'd done it and she whooshed through the house and outside to try. The garden was not designed with bike riding in mind so threw the mininmal amount of shopping away, grabbed a pair of trainers and ventured out onto the main road. Not as reckless as it sounds, we're lucky if we get a passing vehicle an hour and they're mostly tractors. DD2 wobbled precariously up and down the road falling off rather a lot. DD1 appeared to see what was going on and promptly demonstrated to DD2 the art of riding a two wheeler much to our amazement. She managed to go 50M up and down the road looking a bit like a gangly baby giraffe. Lots of legs and arms sticking out at all sorts of angle s and very precariously balanced with it. Persuaded her to try the bike bought 2 years ago for her birthday but which shes never been able to ride. All was going so well until she panicked, lost control and fell face first into a drainage ditch with 4' high nettles (note to self : insist on long sleeves in future). The tearful screeches were worthy of the death scene in any daytime soap opera. Shes never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever going to ride a bike again. Which of course is why at 9pm last night she was riding up and down the road on DD2s bike in her PJs. One of those nocturnal requests when "No its bedtime" is not a sensible response. Have promised to take them and their stabiliser free bikes to the park today. DD2 is as stubborn as her mother and won't be requiring any stabilisers even if she can't ride without them.

Unsurprisingly I didn't get a lot done yesterday. Project dismantle the Land Rover progressed some more resulting in less Landie outdoors and considerably more indoors. I am assured this is a short term thing. Really it is. Wonder where I've heard that before.

    Plans for today:
    • Do everything I didn't get done yesterday
    • Do more laundry (walked into the middle of a water pistol fight twice - the oiks were filling up the pistols from the pond)
    • Take DDs and their bikes to the country park
    • Return library books to avoid fines (finish the last 120 pages of Nip 'n' tuck first)
    • Assist OH in removing a sheared bolt from the Landies front axle
    • Its payday so I can transfer money around to cover the marginally overdrawn current accounts and pay a large chunk off the debt too.

  • Wow - what a co-incidence, I had routine water testers round too. I never even knew such people existed! I was barring the gate going "I know your game lady, you'll be asking me to turn on the water in the bathroom so you can make off with my life savings! I'm not stupid you know.....ID pftftftf you can do anything with a laser printer these days!". Anyway I let her in but had my beady eye on her the whole time.
    Start Date: 27/11/2010

    Target £8000

I am unfit. Sadly even wearing my new running trainers (bought a year ago but only worn twice) did nothing to improve the wheezing arthritic beetroot coloured vision in lycra that was attempting to keep up with the DDs in the park. DDs had a fab time, managed 3 hours of wobbling, crashing and the odd bit of cycling. DD1 got carried away and was careering down the biggest hills she could find at warp speed, wish she'd figure out how to use the brakes first though. DD2 settled for soft landings into pushchairs, joggers and the odd unsuspecting dog walker. I was reminded by DD1 that I am an embarrasment. I was upside down on the parallel bars at the time. As a plus side it should be noted that whilst hanging upside down my boobs look much like they did when I was 18 before the onslaught of gravity or the requirement for a WonderBra - so named because you wonder how the hell you're meant to breathe in the thing.

Went for a wander round a few fields on a blackberry hunt, got stung several thousand times but came away victorious with enough blackberrys for a blackberry and apple crumble. Didn't quite make it as far as adding the crumble topping as the DDs demolished the fruit direct from the slowcooker with rather a lot of ice cream.

Other achievements included hosing out the hen houses with a pressure washer and then revarnishing them ready for another winter. Still need to reseal the eaves but was running out of daylight. Vaguely tidied up in that I moved the piles of carp around a bit. Nothing like the mass tidy up that I'd planned though. Guess I'll be doing that today and venturing to job#2 at some point over the weekend.

Had a pretty ropey night last night. Awoke to the sound of a woman screaming. Leapt out of bed, grabbed to the phone and went to the window to work out what was going on. Chuffing fluffy wabbits. Went back to bed without calling the police to report two mating rabbits causing a disturbance outside my bedroom window.

Finally got my backside in gear and signed up to Virgin Bingo for the free scratchcards. After a dozen failed attempts to find an unclimed chat name I've ended up with "ihaveherpes" not that I do but it was the first random unclaimed thing on there. Off to do some mind numbingly dull Toluna surveys so that I can cash out and ditch them forever.

Have bunged some bulky bits on freecycle to get them out of my hair. This includes surplus fax machine paper from a fax which BT lovingly blew up 3 years ago. Not that they *actually* blew it up. Its a total co-incidence that it was working before the BT engineer pulled up outside the house and burnt out when he left.

Currently midway through attacking the computer desk but managed to sidetrack myself with a brief surf. Must be more focused.

What has 51 pieces, claims to be for age 7+ and takes one adult and one 9 year old 8 months to make? Why this of course: http://www.hasbro.com/shop/details.cfm?guid=930E7A4A-6D40-1014-8BF0-9EFBF894F9D4&product_id=18363&src=endeca

This was DD1s christmas present. Unfortunately she also got a horse and a dinosaur both of which are infinately more complicated. Still now its finished it can take up residence in her bedroom with the much simpler giant parrot that we completed in a weekend. That frees up rather a lot of space on the computer desk. Wheelie bin is now overflowing but the office area of the house is mucho tidier. Shame about the rest of the place really.

Have managed to rack up 5+ miles accompanying the DDs on their bikes today. Feeling marginally better for uping the amount of excercise I'm getting. Will attempt to fit in 30 minutes of planned exercise a day even if its only step aerobics and hoola hooping on the Wii fit.

Off to mop the kitchen floor before throwing together a lasagne. Suppose it would make more sense to clean the kitchen after I've slopped tomato sauce everywhere but then I'd never get around to doing it. Aw well I'll manage that and a bathroom before bed.

Another day, another early start. DD1s club are shooting this morning which guarantees several hill climbs between the toliet and the shoot site with DD2. Weather is fab so will need to pack a lot of water to keep the DDs going. Off to locate some trainers to do a Wii jog before leaping in the shower full of energy. Plans for the afternoon include remembering to go to job #2 at some stage as I din't make it yesterday or friday. The idea of cleaning four toilets in a building impersonating a sauna does not appeal.

OH went in to work at 4:30am in the hopes of being home early enough to watch DD1 shoot - she made him promise he'd try. He hoping to get chance to try his new rifle out in similar setting to those in the field to see how he gets on. Hes a wee bit miffed that shes outshooting him in the garden.

That elephant looks bloomin difficult! DS had an origami set that was for 7+ and I found it difficult so would like to meet these seven yr old testers they are using - or maybe not...
Well done to DD1 for outshooting her father already.

The elephant reminds me of the year my younger sister got a 'make your own Taj Mahal out of paper' kit - I think she was about 9 or so.

I think my Dad made it really, it took forever and consisted of a million teeny weeny bits of paper.

Looked most impressive when eventually made but really, who wants a model of the Taj Mahal - it was pretty big.....
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

Todays entertainment involved wrestling with a deer which had managed to wrap its antlers in a teepee and a length of chain. Roped in four lardy lads to pin it down but even then it managed to wriggle free enough to masacre a friends Rohan trousers and his t-shirt giving him some rather horrific bruises but not drawing any blood
