Good plan re the hols Moo
As to overstocking the cupboards, I found that I was spending more than my usual amount on weekly shopping due to the feeling of having to stock up while stuff's on offer
Tis a fine line we DFWs have to tread & I for one am always wobbling off it & no, that has nothing to do with the vodka jellies0 -
I have similar issues with stocking up. I have so many shower gels it's quite ridiculous. Ditto pasta and cereal.
I only go to the supermarket when I can avoid it no longer, as I have no car and shopping is less fun when you can't overspend in case you put your back out carrying it homeI am pledging to buy no more meat for at least a week, as my freezer requires a Tetris-master to fit anything else in it. Once I have a whole shelf in the freezer free, I will buy more things. Only if reduced though - I got a pork belly with yummy stuffing for 99p the other day and it would feed four adults at least :j

You must have seen my freezer.....(although large amounts of ice add to problem!)
But the bargain meat is just such good value!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
Bargain meat is only bargaintastic when the recipients eat is. OH purchased Sainsburys extravagent sausages reduced to £1.49 eeek. Turns out he doesn't like them. Shame he bought 8 packs.
All recent E-bay sales have been paid for. After expenses I've made £66 and still have 90 first class stamps to use up.
Plan for the day:
List 10 items on flea bay Done but it took an eternity
Achieve 2 hours of housework

One more day to go and then its the school holidays. The DDs have something planned almost every day already. OH has forgotten everything hes been told and promised them things which we can't posibly hope to fit in. Will need to improvise a lot to keep the peace.
Child benefit has been paid today so my bank account is looking rather healthy albeit temporarily as I've written £140 in cheques over the past couple of days. No Quidco this month as I haven't bought anything on-line for ages and the only transactions left are showing as predicted for July.
Something odd is going on at OHs work. His boss answered a phone call 6 hours into his working day then got in his car and drove to head office 4 hours away. Not a clue why. The rumour mongers have come up with lots of wild guesses as to why. To say morale is at an all time low would be a huge understatement.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Moo that sounds very strange about OH work maybe they will enlighten him today.

Still not a clue whats going on with OHs boss but hes been told he will be working overtime tomorrow and monday regardless of his plans. Best of all its a 4am start which explains this evenings 9:30pm phone call then. Clearly sleep deprivation is all part of HQs masterplan.
Cancelled todays riding lesson as the DDs are at pony fun day all day tuesday. I assumed they'd take the opportunity to have a long lie in but was rudely awakened by the pinging of the microwave at 6am as DD1 made herself a bowl of porridge. It appears she'd had some difficulty opening the packet, either that or its been rather too long since I dusted.
Spent today trying to find clothes to fit DD1 who has grown like a weed. At age 9 she needed an adults xxs coat as everything else is too short in the arms. Poor child is destined to be a beanpole. Trouser shopping was nothing short of disasterous. Age 8 trousers fit perfectly round her waist but are far far too short whilst age 14 trousers are a great length but fall down. Shes going to be stuck in shorts all summer regardless of the weather unless I suddenly become surprisingly adept at using a sewing machine or she turns girly and wears skirts.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Its gloriously sunny out. First load of washing is on the line. DDs are still snoring but are about to be rudely awakened as DD1 is due at her shooting club in 35 minutes time.
Hope you all have a great day!Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Hello All,
Its been ages. I'd love to say its because I've been super productively busy but I haven't. The reason for my absence was a mediocore 600 page Stephen King novel which was devoured in a mere three days satisfying my reading itch. Whilst I was being a lazy tart OH has trimmed the front hedges and strimmed everything in sight including the enormous pampas grass which I hate.
DD1 had fun shooting, DD2 had more fun paddling in the cow crossing at the shooting site right up until the point she sat in a giant green cow pat. Spent Monday at the beach but the weather didn't quite hold long enough for the planned BBQ so ended up BBqing indoors instead much to the amusement of the DDs. They went to Pony Fun Day yesterday and both passed their road safety on horseback award so came home with huggins of certificates and rosettes. I started the marathon corridor paint which is going to take at least two coats and twice as long as expected. Managed about a third of it yesterday in a ten hour painintg marathon. Fortuntely the Head is coming in to give me a hand today as long as it rains otherwise hes off golfing. Not entirely convinced that I'll get more done if hes around. Will probably be too busy trying not to burst into out of tune song whilst listening to the radio.
Still haven't shopped other than OHs forays into civilsation for the essentials - milk, bread, booze and fags. No time to shop until at least Thursday either. Cupboards are slowly depleting but theres still tons in there. Will need to do some baking to try and use up some of the 20 or so pots of cake decorating bits I purchased when they were 12p a tub.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500
