Ing account applied for and cheque in the post. Have e-mailed a few friends with the offer too.

Today is wear your pajamas to school day World Book Day where pupils are invited to go to school dressed as their favourite book character and staff are instructed, by way of post it notes and reminders on the notice board, to do likewise. Spent a happy half hour yesterday in the school attic hunting for the Ugly Sisters costumes which have been strategically placed on all the male staff desks. Newbie was the lucky recipient of a white mini skirt, sports vest and pom poms and a High School Musical book with a picture of a cheerleader on the cover.

    Hello All!

I've been feeling bleugh all week and have shared the lurgi with OH who has spent the day in bed.

I've well and truly lost track of all the ins and outs but I've barely spent anything. Well OK barely is a lie. Fuel, milk, riding lessons and worming pills for the DDs (one of whom is a persistant nail biter) have set me back around £50. I've booked my annual shearing for next Wednesday with the salon trainee which hopefully won't be much more than a tenner and I have a torture session booked with the dentist who will remind me of my duty to floss daily whilst gargling with Listerine and wil cahrge an average £3 per minute for inflicting lots of pain whilst removing plaque from my wisom teeth. DD2 is also muttering about new shoes. She likes the machine at Clarks so complains on a weekly basis that her feet hurt just so she can go and be measured. Fortunately theres a Clarks outlet shop at the outlet vilage 25 minutes away but we have to go when OH is elsewhere otherwise he spends a fortune on things just because they're a bargain. This is why he has three times as many clothes as I do but still insists on wearing t-shirts with 1997 on them which are full of holes.

Schools latest fundraiser involves the purchase of very sensibly priced strawberry plants at £1 each and herbs at 75p. Might give me the kick up the bum I need to get things moving outdoors. I don't seem to have much entusiams for gardening at the mo but the potential for reducing the grocery bill, even if its just with courgettes and tomatoes is too good to pass up.

Seem to have had lots of freebies again this week including a £5 Gap voucher to put towards the Christmas fund. Ordered £10 Asda voucher from Ipoints and have qualified for £6 of High Street gift vouchers from the postie lot.

Got a very interesting survey from a reputable company which flagged up as being of an adult nature and warned me not to proceed if I was in any way easily offended. I couldn't click fast enough. OH wandered in to find me in hysterics, more so when I asked if he experienced foul smelling secretions from his trouser vegetables. Thankfully he doesn't so we've qualified to product test something (hes hoping its battery operated!) and to think they normally send me childrens breakfast cereals.

Matched betting profit is currently £313.05 with another fiver due from a Billy Hill bogof. Have finally completed the S.Bet offer and e-mailed to request my free £75 bet but don't expect that before monday. Will open an account with another bookie tomorow. The Cheltenham offers are coming through thick and fast at the moment but I'm clueless about nags and the rule 4 and non-runners resulting in a loss of the free bet seems a bit baffling.

Still haven't listed the things I sorted out for E-bay last week. Will do that tomorrow as OH is working.

This months statements have arrived along with some huge overpayments. If we can continue with the enormous overpayments next month should see the debt being very close to 30K. Being sub 20K by Christmas seems very very optomistic but I do like a challenge. Hopefully OH will be based elsewhere at least once each month which will help because he won't be spending £70 a week on fuel and because his expense allowance is fab and huge. Even eating lobster for every meal he'd struggle to spend it all.

I really do like reading your posts. Especially worming the DDs and the surveys, if you get my drift.

Back on form today. Opened an account with another betting exchange for £20 Quidco and a £25 free bet. Taken advantage of another bookie for an instant £25 free bet and a further £25 bet after placing another 10 bets. Matched one against the other for a 50p loss. One free bet is already avaiable but the only good odds need £700 at the exchange which is way beyond what I'm prepared to risk.

Have also had my hotmail account hacked and several hundred spam e-mails sent to everyone in my address book and lots of other people I've never hear of. Virus checked my PC but theres no sign of any other nasties lurking.

OH is making muttering noises about quitting smoking using a local hypnotist. Hes already tried the patches and the gum and the plastic fag substitutes and going cold turkey. Problem is I'm not convinced that he actually wants to quit which isn't really helping matters.

Planning a very lazy day here as its heaving down and I really don't want to go outside. DDs left their coats at the stables yesterday. Its a 45 minute round trip so they'll be wearing summer coats for the week, might make them take a bit more responsibility for their possessions in future. Probably not though and since most of my jumpers appear to have migrated to school I can't really give them too hard a time over it.

Thats really weird, the weather here is absolutely gorgeous! Blue sky with not a cloud in sight! I went down to the chickens yesterday to get the eggs out, lifted up the roof on the nest box and it came off in my hand! Oops :p So todays job is to get the husband to put some new hinges on it. I also have the two nest boxes that I bought from Aldi's to put up so today hopefully, the weather will stay nice and we can go in the garden!

The rain has finally stopped. Its now snowing. DDs are getting very excited and pestering me about going sledging although the grass is barely covered. Have distracted them by making Welsh Cakes and allowing them tv time.

Placed the first two of ten bets to qualify for a £25 free. Have also put the five books I've read this week on Green Metropolis. Still avoiding listing on E-bay. Off to light the fire its rather chilly.

    Four items listed on E-bay.

OH has taken the DDs to visit their friends new horse so in theory I'll have another half hours peace.... spoke too soon. DD2 has just phoned to ask me to make them a flask of hot choclate which they'll be back to collect in 15 minutes. Will wait to see what OH has planned before starting dinner.

I worked for ladbrokes years ago so know a bit about horse race betting.

Rule 4 is where a horse doesn't race but is pulled out at the last minute or is a non-starter.

Ordinarily when a horse is withdrawn from a race the bookies have time to change the odds to reflect this but when the horse is withdrawn or is a non-starter there isn't time to change the odds.

This means that a sum is levied from each amount paid out to account for the non-racing horse.

If it had long odds eg. 40-1 it wouldn't be too much but if it was the favourite say - 2-1 or evens then it would be more significant. It is expressed in terms of 5p in the pound or 15p in the pound etc so if the rule 4 deduction was 5p in the pound and you had won £4 you would be deducted 20p. The sum is set down by the horse-racing board so is the same across all bookies and all bookies will have rule 4 in place on a race.

I don't know if you actually needed an explanation of this and so sorry for taking up valuable space if not!
But just pleased to once have some info to share!!!!
