Turns out I have 10 hours holiday left so £44 less holiday childcare to fork out for. To counteract this positive karma DD1s termly bill for music tuition has arrived.

    Todays financial outpourings:

    £3 pocket money
    £62 LPG
    £44 holiday club
£20 music fees (although technically not due until after pay day)
    £40 DD1s school trip
    £190 DD1s new rifle
and its send your child to school with lots of money to choose an overpriced inappropriate book day

Then theres new shoes for DD1 and tomorrows riding lesson which will see off another £50. Seems the amount I spend is inversely proportional to the amount of effort I put into being realy really frugal.

Have finally run out of logs so either need to wait until next September to fork out roughly £200 for a delivery (my preference) or phone up for more this weekend (OHs preference).

Happily Quidco cashback has hit my account, all £3.54 of it. Only ten days to pay day. I forsee a store cupboard challenge thinly disguised as the great bi-annual defrosting of the freezer.

Got a £20 cheque yesterday as belated payment for the last school holiday overtime. Promptly went and splurged £13.57 at the Co-op which resulted in:

1 x Ginsters steak slice (treat for OH) in freezer for emergency use
    5 x loaves of bread
    4 x 400g extra mature cheeses
    4 x 500g packs of sphaghetti
    4 pints milk

Hopefully this will ward off the next supermarket trip for another week.

Full of cold again. Seem to be lurching from one plague of lurgi to the next. Didn't do any exercise yesterday as I ache all over. Slept in till 8am but I did stay up till midnight watching a truly diabolical film.

Plans for today extend as far as laundry. Lots and lots of laundry. Tidied the DDs rooms yesterday which turned up lots of random socks and a pile of paint splattered school uniform. Threw out some more outgrown stuff too.

Have promised to take the DDs cycling at Rhyl beach later today but would rather be curled up on the sofa with a good book. Distinctly lacking in energy.

DD1 is ecstatic with her new rifle, she spent a happy half hour at the range with it. Even her instructor is surprised at how accurate and light it is. Now have to phase in a gradual switch from her old rifle to the new one in between competitions.

OH finished work five hours later than expected so abandoned the idea of a forray to the seaside. Have spent the morning gardening instead. Pruned over a foot off the top of the hedges in the front garden which has let lots more light into the house and trimmed back the overgrown wasteland that had taken over the front garden. The path to the front door is now back to the width it should be. Have made lots of mess though so will need to wash the dust and debris off the door and windows later on before we brave civilisation in search of shoes.

Have been summonsed to a family gathering to celebrate the 90th birthday of my senile great grandfather in the secure loony bin. Arrangements are a tad sketchy in fact the rellies in question appear only to have decided on a date. Undecided whether we'll be going as we already have plans for the day in question which falls whilst OH is away. Gramps will be clueless that any of this is going on as he hasn't recognised any one in over three years which means its more an excercise for the rellies than a party to Gramps who is likely to sleep through the whole thing anyway assuming they manage to persuade him to go as he doesn't like crowds and usually runs if there are more than three people in a room at a time.

Can you PM DedicatedDFW as she has been taking my spare ones and I'm not sure if she's aware that there's a deadline?

    Thanks!

The doom and gloom was all getting a bit much so I'm having a positve new start with less whinging and fewer plans for planting OH under the patio.
