Hi Laura
Just wanted to say that you have done so well, and come a long way in a short time - WELL DONE YOU. :j
As for Bruges, it is beautiful, one of those places you just wander around looking in shops and stopping off for a beer or two along the way, you can do a lovely boar ride on the canal too. And don't forget to get the best chips and mayo from the stalls in the square. It's even more beautiful at christmas-time. I can't wait to go back.0 -
I think our biggest saving was on the travel, we opted for an early Eurostar train (6.45) which meant it got us into Brussels at about 8, well it was 9 am in Brussels. Because we got the early train and booked our Eurostar tickets months in advance, we got 2 return tickets for less than £70. First tip, look out for discounts on the Eurostar website, you should hopefully be able to snap up a cracking deal on travel. OK, just seen you live in Leeds, how were you planning on traveling to Brussels chick?
All in all, i think the whole trip for us both cost around £290 for 3 nights. Thats excluding spending money, when we went the euro was rubbish, so food seemed very expensive - good news, the chocolate in all the lovely chocolate shops was cheap :j also, something not to miss is The Chocolate Museum. Cheap to get into, and great watching them make chocolates, and the smell, gorgeous!!!!0 -
We were going to go by eurostar too. So would have to pay extra to get down to Londonshopaholic84 wrote: »I think our biggest saving was on the travel, we opted for an early Eurostar train (6.45) which meant it got us into Brussels at about 8, well it was 9 am in Brussels. . But then there is always Nation Express Coaches. They are usually very cheap to London then may be just cost of a tube ticket to get to St Pancras (or wherever eurostar goes from, I forget)
Early train is a good tip, although I hate getting up early!!

Feeling a bit    tonight. Stupid HSBC have sneaked up the interest on my credit card to 19.9% from 15.9% They haven't sent a letter or anything. Bet if they were putting it down then they'd be shouting it from the rooftops! I'm guessing it's because I haven't been using it for purchases and have been quietly paying off my bill for the 2 years-ish. They gotta get more money out of me somehow!
This now makes my HSBC card the higher interest. So now I'm going to concentrate on overpaying this card. I'm guessing that it may work a little in my favour that Halifax have a lower minimum so I will be able to throw more at the HSBC card but it's sooo annoying!0 -
On a happier note- I've got a £10 amazon voucher through from Dooyoo so I'm off to do some guilt free shopping. Just gotta deceide what I want. I'm so indecisive sometimes
