passport query?

my partner has not got a adult passport but he was on his dads passport when he was younger.will we have to pay the full £54 for a new one or can his child one be renewed so the cost would drop to £34?

Over the age of 16 it is the full price I'm afraid. Just had to renew my 16yr olds and it cost me £51.
There and back in 5 working days two weeks ago.

another question,i cannot find my passport anywhere very recent discovery,is it really the same as a new passport to replace?
