  • any recomendations for a decent mascara and under eye lightner?....

id like a false lash effect mascara and something similar to the no7 under eye concealer brush on thingie:o

I've tried so many mascaras and the best one I've found is Dior Show Blackout mascara. It's around the £18 mark so I usually save up my points to get it. There's never really any offers on it, except when they have the giftset which comes with free eyeshadow (it's the same price as just getting the mascara.) I got a good offer from Debenhams recently, there was a certain amount off when you spend x amount on Dior. Re false eyelash effect, to be honest I've never found a mascara that looks as good as false eyelashes!

I've tried Touche Eclat before but now I use bourjois concealer, which works in the same way. I couldn't find this in any stores when the £2 off bourjois offer was on, perhaps it's been discontinued, so I got this.

Witch hazel, preferably chilled first, on cotton wool pads applied to the undereye area might do the trick, Alternatively an eye gel with Aloe vera in it, again kept in the fridge.

Totally agree with the Diorshow Blackout - it's my fave too. Takes a bit of getting off but well worth it.

    Hiya,
Not much left in Ilford. I posted here yesterday about it. Some JF blonde sets, St Tropez kits, Accessorize purses, loads of wrapping paper and plenty of cards, some photo frames with butterflies on, trash alley (?) game and some Trevor Sorbie mens sets.

DH went to Beckton this morning. Not the clearance store-haven't been there since before the 75% off sale started. He came home with a mulled wine set, but said there were no Elle bags or Bach kits left (asked him to check for you all!). There were some Titanic dinner party game things, Hackett sets, Accessorize purses, Mince pie & wine sets, more Mulled wine sets with the jug, and tons and tons of wrapping paper-his words! He can't remember anything else because 'it wasn't on the list of things you asked for'! Well, can't expect too much from him. It was enough for him to be sent to Beckton and do that for me-he was gonna sneak off while I was still asleep. Got him to buy the News Of The World today because they're doing DVD's of Life On Mars with it (2 episodes per week). :D

Hoping my Boots order will arrive tomorrow. Tracking says it's at the sorting centre in Droitwich.

thanks for this... please let me know if you go to any of the beckton stores again...hopefully, as soon as exams are over i'm going to go to the stratford/ilford ones and will post anything

    Hi

I suppose that you mean this
    http://www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10052&productId=6191&callingViewName=&langId=-1&catalogId=11051

    It also says

This is a medicine.Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have an underlying medical "condition, are taking any other medication or complementary therapy, or if", "symptoms persist. Seek advice before using if you are breast feeding,", "pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or suffer from allergies.", Keep all medicines out of the reach of children.,

My only worry is that I react to some eye creams, NO7 being one of them, so could this be too strong?

The trouble with eyes is that if you experiment you risk making things worse, even if only short term, as I found out the hard way. I had shingles in my eye, and have to put drops in both eyes for life, so even being careful I'm getting fragile puffy skin where I have to pull on the lower lid to put the drops in. All I can use is Clinique All About Eyes (not the newer rich version) which is a horrific price, but which you can save Boots points for, or it's usually on Ebay for a more sensible price.

    Hypothetical question:

If you order from .com and get it delivered to store, are you able to pay on collection? I got the impression that it was possible but may well have got the wrong end of the stick.

Anyway, if you can do this, would it be possible to order the sale stuff at 50% online, get it delivered to store and pick it up (and pay) once the 75% has started?

I think my plan is to grab what I want (the big stuff esp) in 50%, and if I can get it at 75% then if I take the 50% stuff back with my receipt, I should get back what I paid for it, right?

I went to pick up my full price order from Watford this morning. The team manager said he could only refund me what I had paid. I could not buy the stuff back at the sale price, as it was .com stock. It was worth a try.

As far as I know, when you order from .com, you pay for it there and then, whether you choose in store delivery or home.

Also, you can buy sale items at 50% in store, and try to return them when the 75% off sale starts, and re buy them, people have successfully done this but it is always SA dependent I think as to whether they allow you to do this.

    Hi

Please does anyone have any advice on reducing or hiding under eye puffiness?
    ...

I used to use something that helped a little, and felt great. They were pads that looked like cucumbers and I would keep the little jar in the refrigerator to keep them cool. I would lie back, close my eyes, and put them on before going out in the evening -- it was very relaxing, too, and made tired eyes feel better. I can't for the life of me remember the name of the brand I used, but here are some others I found online:

Cucumber Eye Pads - £4.99 for 24 pads
Cucumber Eye Pads Eye Soothers - £3.95 for 24 pads

And here's one that looks like you heat it rather than cool it that sounds quite nice:
Self Heating Green Tea Mask with Revitalising Cucumber Eye Pads (6 pack) - £4.99
