Do you think....(deep breath)....14 bottles of Herbal Essences shampoo and 21 of conditioner is an excessive number to buy? Given that we use a bit less than a bottle per week of shampoo and slightly more of conditioner between the four of us that's really only four months worth. It's just that even Hubby, a laid back bloke normally, is looking a bit aghast at The Invasion of the Herbal Essences Bottles.
In my defence I should say HE is one of the shampoo brands I usually buy (depends on the offers) and this is the type I buy too. And it was 73p per 400ml bottle, rather than £2.98 (but sometimes is BOGOF or BOGOF). I mean, look at the maths...
35 bottles @ 73p = £25.55 (For £104.30 worth of shampoo/conditioner.)
Gained 3500 points and five Blinkies. (Five seperate transactions of seven bottles a time.)
Then spent the five Blinkies on a variety of reduced No7 products, like Hair Spritzer (£2.83) which my DD uses, Needed to top some of these up, but in total I spent less than £10 in cash plus five Blinkies for 15 products.
Plus my local Boots (Edinburgh Fort) is doing an offer where if you use a Blinkie on 3-4-2 No7 you get to choose something out of a box full of old GWP. So I have two L'Oreal, two different Rimmel and a Bourjois GWP.
So Boots maths means my 3500 points gained has offset my approx £35 cash spent, and I have gained 35 bottles of HE, 15 No7 products and 5 GWP effectively free.
Now my 12 year old DS "got" this concept of free stuff instantly. My Hubby on the other hand has gone to the pub muttering "Thirty five bottles of shampoo? The woman is mad...." etc etc. Am I mad? Is this taking Bootsing a step too far?????????:D
(There's plenty of 73p bottles left out there, btw. I made a point of only buying the blue greasy roots/dry ends type. I didn't want to swamp myself with shampoo I wouldn't use, however good the deal!)
Nope, its your hubby who is mad - look at all the free stuff you got with the blinkies, and you've got loads of points on your card to spend too - Boots has actually paid you to take all that stuff away home.
Oh and by the way - I'm so jealous of you guys who live near Edinburgh Fort :T0 -

Hi, not at all in my blokey opinion.
I am in a similar position. I use No7 products daily, using my discount card, (add on), and a Blinkie I get the products absolutley free. I buy my lunches from Mr B`s and am also taking advantage of the HE points and discounted Gillette to make up the £5 spend each time.
I have squirreled away around 30 or 40 mens No7 products, 15 Gillette Deo`s and 15- 20 HE shampoos, (inc Minis`), a few Pantenne sachets and more ...... I now have around £35 on my card and i only started using it last month!!
All will be used and will run out well before the years end, so no, not all all exessive, grab the cheap products that you use while you can, especially in the current economic climate.
Boots your hearts out. x0 -
MY OH is like that, he just doesn't get it at all. Today I was getting Pantene sachets and loads of points - and blinkies - but he was just bemused. Before her retired I could go shopping on my own but he'sa real handicap now.
My OH is working from home at the mo, and sometimes comes bootsing with me, so I know how you feel! although today, he said "you got all that expensive No.7 stuff and only paid a £1?" He was might impressed, and that I'd managed to re-train a manager re clearance/342/blinkie use.The Invasion of the Herbal Essences Bottles.
btw does anyone know if the hair sprizt stuff is good on thick, frizzy, tangled hair, or is that just a step too far?0 -

When did you place your order? I did mine in the early afternoon Wednesday when the sale was back up briefly, and I got a confirmation email, but no dispatch email yet. I'll feel better when I get a notice that my order -- all of it -- has been dispatched, lol.0 -

The Edinburgh Fort staff are lovely, have to say. They do occassionally refuse vouchers so are not total walkovers when it comes to glitches, but they always smile and are polite. And there's several real gems that seem to be genuinely delighted when you get a bargain.
Talking of all the lovely points now on my card again after totally stripping it to zero in the sale....I had been explaining to DS that I could just use them for stuff like soap and toothpaste to be properly moneysaving, rather than treats.
Then DD piped up "...and nit lotion???"
Yeah well. The child is smart. I do spend a lot per year on nit lotion in Boots. Talk about taking the shine off my good deal though!Val.0 -

Hi There,
just wanted to ask if anyone has tried the boots No.7 blush tints & if it's any good?
Since it's 3 for 2 & the money off voucher, am trying to decide what to get!
Cheers0 -

My son has thick curley hair down to his shoulders (bloomin' wasted on a boy, that hair....) and he uses the spritz stuff just to be able to get a comb through his locks. If it works for rugby frizz it will work on anything, I think.Val.0 -
Took 4 x gift sets back this morning. SA was being a bit awkward, so I did my sneer glare and lip pout and it was all a doddle. Another SA flew out of somewhere and grabbed the R+M Eye Make Up thing and said she was going to buy them and hid them. LOL.
Thanks for the clarification ladies.
Hope everyone had a gorgeous day Bootsing and what not. Have a great weekend all.0
