Do you think....(deep breath)....14 bottles of Herbal Essences shampoo and 21 of conditioner is an excessive number to buy? Given that we use a bit less than a bottle per week of shampoo and slightly more of conditioner between the four of us that's really only four months worth. It's just that even Hubby, a laid back bloke normally, is looking a bit aghast at The Invasion of the Herbal Essences Bottles.

In my defence I should say HE is one of the shampoo brands I usually buy (depends on the offers) and this is the type I buy too. And it was 73p per 400ml bottle, rather than £2.98 (but sometimes is BOGOF or BOGOF). I mean, look at the maths...

    35 bottles @ 73p = £25.55 (For £104.30 worth of shampoo/conditioner.)

Gained 3500 points and five Blinkies. (Five seperate transactions of seven bottles a time.)

Then spent the five Blinkies on a variety of reduced No7 products, like Hair Spritzer (£2.83) which my DD uses, Needed to top some of these up, but in total I spent less than £10 in cash plus five Blinkies for 15 products.

Plus my local Boots (Edinburgh Fort) is doing an offer where if you use a Blinkie on 3-4-2 No7 you get to choose something out of a box full of old GWP. So I have two L'Oreal, two different Rimmel and a Bourjois GWP.

So Boots maths means my 3500 points gained has offset my approx £35 cash spent, and I have gained 35 bottles of HE, 15 No7 products and 5 GWP effectively free.

Now my 12 year old DS "got" this concept of free stuff instantly. My Hubby on the other hand has gone to the pub muttering "Thirty five bottles of shampoo? The woman is mad...." etc etc. Am I mad? Is this taking Bootsing a step too far?????????:D

(There's plenty of 73p bottles left out there, btw. I made a point of only buying the blue greasy roots/dry ends type. I didn't want to swamp myself with shampoo I wouldn't use, however good the deal!)

I managed to aquire 12500 ish points from boxing day to day 1 of the 75% sale.

I have about 1500 on my card but another 4000 pending. As i havent had chance to collect them yet.

Its all about maximising offers and ACM vouchers etc.

As i live in a little teeny tiny village i tell my friends and family i am going to town is there anything you would like from boots, i get it for them and get to keep the points.

Same if i see an bargain online if i dont need it i ask around my friends and family and see if anyone else does. They get a bargain i get the points for my time. I also ask them if they need anything when i have a small order so that it makes it up to the mark where i can use an extra points code too. I would do it for them anyway as i do with other offers on other sites, and they always benefit from my points spending sprees with the goodies i pick up.

A few weeks ago i got my friend a pushchair as it was on offer online, i ordered instore and maximised the points using the acm voucher and my double points coupon plus it was double points on pushchairs online which was still valid when you order off .com instore, my friend saved £40 on a pushchair and i got about 1600 points for getting it for her.

I also get to keep most of the blinkies too as noone i do shopping for will use them. OMG i just realised im a boots distance shopping agent, lol.

Although i am getting sick of the pantenne offer i have enough for a year or 2, but i am eager to find some herbal essences reduced as the bottles look much nicer for hampers.

Does it work well as detangler? I have 1 bottle i got ages ago and have hair to my bum that gets sooo tangled!

Yes it does. DD and I both have uberfine waist length hair that knots up in the slightest breeze and we both use this as a detangler. Better than many of the products sold for this specific purpose anyway.

(That John Frieda Frizz-Ease that you can get free sometimes with blinkies/pinkies/inkie-winkies is very good on the ends as well, from stopping hair knotting in the first place. )

MY OH is like that, he just doesn't get it at all. Today I was getting Pantene sachets and loads of points - and blinkies - but he was just bemused. Before her retired I could go shopping on my own but he'sa real handicap now.
  • just got an email from boots saying my order has been despacted. well chuffed, would like to know if anyone else got one of those no7 complete artits collection aswell.
  • That sounds perfectly reasonable to me but then again I'm a Bootser too.

My husband is really getting p'd off with my Boots habit

Boots.com boxed landing every 2/3 days

Boots bags appearing every few days

Bathroom cupboard is busting, under sons double bed is also stuffed, spare room is running out of space and all this years prezzies are taking up one shed...............I think I'll have to go into rehab

    p.s. on a grabbit note

If anyone has had problems finding pantene minis £1.26 with 100 points try the minis/holiday section that's where I find them
& herbal essence check SEL as I had a quick look and though they don't have any until I look at the price and it was under £1...
Busy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:

    FANTASTIC

Thats exactly the way i think.

I tell my Df the same. I say well i could spent £25 on baby stuff but then what have i got. £25 of baby stuff and 100 points. Or i could get shampoo which we need and get 3500 points, blinkies etc and use the points to get baby stuff.

Therefore for the same spend we are getting loads and loads more for our money. He's starting to get it now. And is mighty impressed.
