Could it be that he is expceting it to hurt and is getting upset? i used to howl because i didnt like water going on my face and said it stung when it never - i did this until i was about 8 lol.
Same here - it was a right sight. Both me and my brother had a shampoo shield and about 3 facecloths over our eyes but the minute the facecloth got wet - AAAAAAAAAAAARGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH as if we were being stabbed.
It's a wonder the neighbours never called social services.0 -
The Boots one really stings - it makes all my children's eyes go red.
ASDA and Johnson ones are fine though. At the moment they are using Tigi Bedhead which is fine too."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."

I am obviously as careful as I can be to ensure that nothing goes in his eyes, but it always does
Thank you
ive used them in the past which resulted in my girls crying saying it stung thier eyes:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0 -
If you're washing hair in the bath, could be the bubble bath in the water upsetting their eyes. My boys hated hair washes - screamed til they were about 8!
Nibs - post about swimming goggles is good idea. My ds1 uses them when he cuts onions (started cooking meals for the family occasionally). Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

or take him swimming once a week and wash his hair afterwards. for some reason my kids were never bothered by hair washing in the showers at the pool!0

I don't think it's the shampoo stinging their eyes, it's just the fact that they don't like getting water in their eyes. You know yourself that it you get soap in your eyes it really hurts.
My son (3 and a half) hates having his hair washed and will moan that it hurts his eyes . He closes his eyes and puts his hands over them, I just try and get it over and done with as quickly as possible and don't fuss him too much......a massive jug of water helps
.
I use Halos and Horns shampoo too (smells lovely and is skin friendly).

I use the shower to rinse DD now, took a bit of getting used to on her part but I found it rinses a lot quicker and a lot more efficiently than a jug of water, plus she's now happy to jump in the shower with me in the morning (or sometimes before I even get chance to get my pyjamas off!) whereas before she was really scared of it... I just tell her to look at the sky when rinsing shampoo off...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls...
