No more tears shampoo

Do any of them actually do "what they say on the tin"? I have bought loads and my son will still cry every time I was his hair as it says that it really hurts his eyes.
I am obviously as careful as I can be to ensure that nothing goes in his eyes, but it always does
Thank you

How old is your son? I used a shampoo shield until mine were about 5.0

Or you could get him to hold a damp flannel over his eyes until you've finished rinsing... Sometimes just having water in your eyes can be uncomfortable, maybe he doesn't like that and shampoo brands don't make a difference...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... He is 3. Might have to get a shampoo shield then. Always laughed at them in the baby mags before I had a child........ I take it all back....!There are times when parenthood seems nothing but feeding the mouth that bites you Peter De VriesDebt free by 40 (27/11/2016)0

my son wouldn't wear one of those caps and he wouldn't put a flannel on his face, so i only fill the bath up slightly get him to lie down in it and wash his hair this way.
But to the shampoo i use the johnsons baby shampoo on my hair(i have an allergy to shampoo and its the only one i can use) anyway i get it in my face nearly everytime and its never hurt my eyes yet.0 -
Will go and get some of that then. I think I must have tried it but will have another go!There are times when parenthood seems nothing but feeding the mouth that bites you Peter De VriesDebt free by 40 (27/11/2016)0

No tears shampoos have anaesthetic in them to stop them hurting but it doesn't mean they are more gentle on the eyes. I'd suggest sticking to water or as suggested previously lying him down in a shallow bath to rinse it out.0

The post about no more tears having anaesthetic in it is untrue. the shampoo has the same ph balance as eyes which is why they dont sting - it wont clean his hair very well as the PH is supposed to be the same for hair to clean it properly.
However, it is doubtful that the shampoo is stinging as it is the sam ph balance means its like putting water there. Could it be that he is expceting it to hurt and is getting upset? i used to howl because i didnt like water going on my face and said it stung when it never - i did this until i was about 8 lol
there is a jug you can but that has a flap on it that should make rinsing hair easier or you could use a shampoo cap.0
