Hi everyone, it's the perpetual lurker here just saying hi for once since I'm having a rather positive day.

I've had a great first week of proper DFW'ing. 3 no spend days in a row, kept a sharp eye on my bank account and totted up my remaining debts (steadily coming down!), and for once actually feel really positive about becoming debt-free by the summer. August is my goal because we go mountain biking in France so I'm hoping by then we'll have all debts cleared, have saved up enough to have a new kitchen fitted and OH might have passed his driving test by then so that when we get back from our terrific holiday it'll be like starting afresh.

Have a really great day everyone!

    Hi Cazz :hello:

    Sounds like a plan.

  • For those of you who remember my worries about my gas and electricity direct debits the other week, I can now report that I have got a good result. :j :j
I submitted actual readings against the estimates and now find that I am in credit with the gas by £22 and, instead of putting my electricity up from £69 to £107, they are actually cutting it to £67! :D

The little graphs at the bottom of the bills indicate that I have cut consumption by approx 50% on the same period last year.

    Thanks for everybody's help.:T

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

Much happier thanks :D . I'd like to get it down lower but I really need a new boiler to achieve that.

I have just been really brave and started my first ever thread on utilities asking about economy 7.

I need a new boiler too! I dread to think how old the one is that we have - it looks like a 1970s model.

I have a sealed pot for saving - it'll either be for a new combi boiler or totally new bathroom inc power shower.... maybe both!
