Boo! They've changed the insider page to read this:
Points are the currency of Qype. They allow the community to see at a glance which Qypers are the newbies as well as the hardened Qype veterans.
So how do you gain points?
Pretty much every time you do something on Qype you'll receive points.
Here's a quick breakdown:
Writing a review nets you 8 points
Writing the first review of a place is a 20-pointer
Adding an event gives 10 points
Uploading a photo gets you 2 points
Attaching a video to a review is 4 points
Inviting a friend to Qype gives you 25 points
And if an invited friend writes more than 10 reviews you get 25 more points!
What's a Qype Insider?
Insiders are trusted members of the Qype community who have collected 250+ points and written more than 15 reviews by reviewing places, uploading photos and inviting their friends.
Once you've netted 250 points you will automatically become a Qype Insider and your little Qype starburst will turn green! Exciting huh?
What's the advantage of becoming a Qype Insider?
Reviews by Qype Insiders are weighted higher than regular Qypers, and you'll also have access to cool special offers and events exclusively reserved for Insiders.
What then?!
And then that magical moment arrives when you have written more than 60 reviews and accumulated 1000 points and you reach Ninja status. Qype Ninjas are revered and worshipped by their fellow Qypers and business owners the world over will tremble at your feet.
