  • just to clarify things so that I can choose whether to get the clubcard plus (CC+) or the credit card.

So from what I understand you don't really double dip: i.e. spending £10 gives you 10 points and another 10 extra CC+ points on top of that, rather 10 points and then another 20 CC+ points?

How does this compare with the credit card - does that work the same i.e. does £10 give you 10 points and then an extra equivalent 12.5 bonus points, or just 10 points with 2.5 extra bonus points?

Precisely my thoughts. Is this any better than using a tesco credit card in store?

Actually this is incorrect, there is an overdraft facility and its the amount of your direct debit (you have to tick to say you want it). Also I have read previous posters that have said you can load the card at customer services with your debit card.

Really? I must have missed that- sorry! I thought I read that it could only be loaded at customer services via cash and not with another card.

Anyone have the card can you please clarify with me?? thankyou!

CC+ has a better points return than CC credit card on instore, online and petrol spending

Thanks for that! I've made up my mind to go and get the CC+ for my points!

    Ok

A plain old original style clubcard gives you 1 pt per £1

A Tesco Clubcard Credit card gives you 5pts per £4.00 for arguments sake that works out at 1.25 pts per £ when spent in Tesco. Outside its .25pts per £1 (I believe it has to be in multiples of £4 though ie 1pt per £4)

A Tesco Clubcard Plus gives you 2pts per £1.00. This is like a preloaded debit card that can only be used in Tesco or you can withdraw cash from it. You have to load the card with funds by dd but you can add to that amount by cash and I believe your bank debit card at Customer Service desk and also by internet banking.

Tesco Clubcard Plus wins on points
    £2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far

+ however may £2 coins I have saved in my Terramundi since 2000.

    Terramundi weighs 8lb 5oz

Just to add to my last post, my card has now arrived ready for use!

It took less then a month, I recommend this to anyone!

Now I just want to see if my 1500 odd Clubcard normal points are going to be swapped over!

By my calculations though, the Tesco Credit Card seems to give more points than Clubcard Plus...

According to http://www.tescofinance.com/personal/finance/finance/creditcards/clubcc/index.jsp, you get "5 EXTRA points per £4 spent in Tesco".

So that would be 4 points for your £4 spend as normal, plus 5 "extra", making 9 points.

Surely CC+ would only give you "double points", making 8?

Edit: The Clubcard Credit Card pages also state:

"At the end of each quarter we'll send you Clubcard vouchers for:
    • the points you've collected in-store
    • the extra points you earn when you use your Clubcard Credit Card"
So it looks like you DO get to "double dip".

Don't think it actually menas additional when it says "extra", it just calls them "extra" and lets you draw your own conclusions, its 5 points per £4 and not 9, thats what I hear from others anyway who get 1.5 clubcard points per £1 and don't get any additional (or "extra") points when they hit £4.

Per £4, Clubcard Plus gives you 8. Its more then the credit card which gives you 5.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I have a friend with the credit card and I now have the clubcard plus.

    .

Top of that page you've linked to is pretty clear

    Tesco Clubcard Credit Card

Make the most of your extra Clubcard Points
    • Spend £4 at Tesco and we'll give you 5 Clubcard Points
    • Spend £4 anywhere and we'll give you 1 Clubcard Point
Clubcard + will give you 8 points for a £4 tesco spend.

I have both cards and it certainly isn't a double dip scheme-if only...
