Those of you who have a clubcard plus, do you get extra points coupons in the post like you do with the credit card?

    Thanks

Yes, as clubcard plus opens up another clubcard account for you. I think you don't put your existing clubcard number on the application form for clubcard plus.

Basically don't merge the 2 clubcard accounts and you get 2 sets of vouchers. Plus you can register your clubcard plus number for the wine/food etc clubs all over again and get even more extra point vouchers.
Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?
  • One more question can you use clubcard plus to pay for petrol?

  • I have bought petrol with it before yes

  • I currently have a standard clubcard, and I’m looking at a new credit card with some cashback/point bonus.

I’m not sure if the hassle of loading the clubcardplus up either pre purchase or by DD is worth it and should just get the Tesco clubcard credit card and pay it off in full via DD each month.
I have a couple of questions:
    • Does the Tesco credit card replace the standard clubcard and therefore you only get one lot of points (and not one set for credit card and another for the clubcard). If this is the case, it is hardly worthwhile, might as well get a CapitalOne credit card with 1% cashback?
    • If I do get a Tesco credit card or clubcardplus and keep it separate from the standard clubcard account, how can you benefit from the extra mailings, don’t the vouchers relate to a specific card (either clubcard or clubcardplus) because it would be a impossible to split the weekly shop with some items paid using the clubcard and the rest using the clubcardplus?
    • Who should apply for the clubcardplus, the main account holder of the standard clubcard I guess because then it will be easier to redeem the points from the 2 separate accounts.
BTW – Both my wife and I use the same standard clubcard account at the moment.

Yes Clubcard plus (debit) 2 points per £1, credit card 1.5 points per £1.

Will use the idea of paying in money at CS desk the moment before I use it as creditted to account instantly (thanks spender) to ensure least loss of interest on cash.

Computer says yes (well the literature does!)

    Update to previous post.

Where does the 1.5 points per £1 for using the Tesco credit card come from in the above quote?
    The Tesco website states:
If you pay with your Clubcard Credit Card at Tesco or Tesco.com, you'll get 5 points for every £4 spent!
Well that is only1.25 points per £1 and not 1.5 points per £1
If I spend £400 at Tesco per month then I’d get:
    Credit card 500 points p/m
Clubcardplus 800 points p/m (can someone confirm double points on ALL Tesco purchases?)

In addition, non Tesco purchases using the credit card:
And, every time you spend £4 on your Clubcard Credit Card, no matter where else, we'll give you 1 Clubcard Point.
Which isn’t a lot, better to get a 1% cashback card (i.e. CapitalOne).

So I guess I have answered my own question, if I can be bothered with loading up the clubcardplus (and checking that it's always in credit), then I should get this and a replacement credit card with a cashback (easy to get 1%) for everything else.

Hi Ive just come across this thread today - unfortunately I am having the same problems - my points keep disappearing!!!! All was fine when I had a "normal" clubcard, but now that I have a Tesco Clubcard Credit Card my points have been wiped altogether and the balance keeps going up and then down. I am at the end of my tether with it - I have today sent a huge letter to Customer Services. I think I am at least 1500 down now - some of the points have miraculously appeared again....

I'm having the same problem - i've got 3 accounts and appear to have lost points because i've started paying by clubcard plus. I'm not a happy bunny.
November wins...a book, a designer handbag (worth £550 :T) and a game. I am now an addict and thank everyone for taking the time to share and post. :D

When we first had a clubcard credit card I was completely confused by the balance going up and down then when we got the mailings I realised that the accounts were seperate even though we had joined them and that I have a balance for the credit card and one for the normal clubcard. So need to add these 2 figures together to get the correct total. It works in your favour because you get double coupons too.
