just to say that I looked at Tesco Store Locator and cant find any with opticians in West Yorkshire where I live0

Thanks for that, but is that part for the test or do you pay extra for it?
I have had my eyes tested today - it was £23.50 and I had the photo done of both my eyes which was an additional £10.00 but the optician did explain the test and got me to agree to the additional charge before he did it.
I go to an independant Optician in the village - I try and shop local whenever possible as I find the quality and service much better than the chains...Mr Tesco seems to be branching out into too many products and services for my liking and is gradually squeezing the small shopkeepers out of business.
I've tried the two pairs for the price of one from D&H but wasn't very impressed....the offers that seem to good to be true usually are!0 -
Eye tests at Tesco!?! I've heard it all now.
Think I will stick to Vision Express.0 -

I had my eyes tested Saturday at Tesco's but after choosing the frames, which were cheap enough, the price of the lens and coating etc. made the price astronomical!! I was given the prescription to take away with me but, when I went to read it, I couldn't. Nothing was written in the correct spaces! Do you think Tesco's would think I had a cheek if I took the prescription back and asked them to re-right it again so enabeling me to take it elsewhere!0

peniforum,
when having eyes tested you pay for the prescription.
legally its your, go back and tell them politely to write in english.
(please tell me the staff in the opticians have at least GCSE's)0 -

They are into making movie films now as well!! Global domination! Still, as least they are making sure you can actually watch them...

This thread should be closed as the voucher expired in June 2009!Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0

Don't get your eyes tested in Tescos. I went to Tescos in Oxfordshire and the optician said I had a blurred optic disc and swollen optic nerve, he said it could be a brain tumor. I went through weeks of worry and stress only to be told by an eye specialist that there was nothing wrong with my eyes. Please don't use Tescos, save yourself a whole load of worry.
I also had to go back 7 months later to see the specialist (7 months of worry) and still nothing wrong.0
