I don't think there's too much mileage in the BDA drivers either.

I replaced the ones on my laptop, and after a bit of a song and dance, I got the new drivers loaded, but I found picking up the stations was very hard - compared to the Freecom supplied drivers & S/W.

My only problem with the Freecom setup is that I can only play the capured video back by using the Freecom viewer - it used to work with WMP or WinAmp, but not any longer!!

May be to do with Codecs, but I can't remember changing any settings - it was working one morning, then the same day, nothing.

Has anyone found a way of keeping the channels found with a "daytime" scan, and merging these with an "evening" scan?

I know you can save the scanned channels and reload them as required, but I don't think you can have an entry for the daytime CBBC channels, and one for BBC3/4 as they use the same frequency?

I have also found that the recordings will no longer play on Windows Media Player, though they did at the start. Does anyone know why? I have found that you can use Nero Showtime.

It depends what program you are using to record and how your system is setup. I know webscheduler uses .TS (transport stream) by default but as you are only recording one channel at a time it's effectively an MPEG.

There was a Microsoft update for digital TV but I can remember the link.

  • Trevor,
The USB stick you have probably heard about is probably this Freecom one below available from PC World for £41.35 if you reserve on line and pick up at store.
I can recommend it bought one a few weeks ago and you get excellent picture as well as ease of use.

  • Don't think the Freecom stick allows you to pick up analogue I'm afraid!
