I bought one of these last week - not explored it fully yet, but its great for timeshifting programs and pausing live tv!

I installed it using downloaded Yakumo drivers (as recommended on other forums), and use GBPVR as the PVR software as its better than the free stuff that comes with the card or that which comes with the Yakumo drivers.

You should be able to put the PC into 'hibernate' mode and the PVR software will wake it up when its ready to start recording (depending on the capabilities of the PVR software being used) - GBPVR does this (though I haven't had a chance to test it with this card yet!)

The aerial connector looks a bit fragile, but otherwise a very handy piece of kit.

Where can i download the Yakumo drivers please?

Have a look at the following page; http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=69061&postcount=19 This gives details on installing the drivers and where to download them from.

BDA = M$ standard for TV cards. Makes it much easier for manufacturers and software developers to make their products compatible.

MSI are a very good brand.

Dont bother with this one, its shocking. Doesnt work even through the roof aerial and I get a perfect signal with that through my freeview box :(

Don't doubt the sincerity of the poster on gbpvr (or PeteM), but be very wary of going down the route of replacing the included software. I tried it on my PC - NB first step is to delete all the proper Freecom software - and ended up with a blue screen/frequently resetting computer, with the computer refusing to install the drivers. Sods law, I had the installation disk but had mislaid the sleeve it came in, which has the serial number to make it operable. Thank God for system restore which managed to undo all my handywork.

I'm not daft and know my way around computers, plus I'm using a pretty new "out of the box" PC not encumbered with loads of add-ins, but I was tearing my hair out trying to get the thing to work again - think many people would have ended up binning the DVB stick and giving up.

Think carefully about whether you think the Freecom software is that bad before you start tinkering...
I really must stop loafing and get back to work...
