Yeah go ahead and sanction me with your sheep if you think you're fluffy enough. If you do I'll declare a London/Welsh war and we'll stop importing leeks. Your economy will *so* go down the pan. Oh, wait....0

Thanks for the help guys! Didn't realise everyone followed the threads so closely, maybe should go elsewhere for a second opinion.
Just to point out again that I am not having a go at people with Aspergers generally, but put yourself in my shoes for God's sake. If you were in a similar position you'd be worried too.0 -
i wouldnt worry about your jacket just imagine where he's probably had your toothbrush, lol when you was away:eek:
He's probably been trying your underwear on aswell:rolleyes:, if i was you i would get out asap.I am not a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as not being a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. No, I wouldn't really be worried actually. You've admitted that it is possible that some bloke in a pub slashed your coat. Hell it could even have been your other flatmate since you left it unattended over Xmas.mr_pharmacist wrote: »Thanks for the help guys! I see nothing particularly odd in this guy's behaviour. He turns the heating down? So what? I had the windows open last night. People like different temperatures - either put a sweater on or have a flat meeting and have everyone compromise on an acceptable temperature as the standard. This will involve give and take for YOU as well as your other flatmates.
He nicks cutlery? !!!!!!? You've never in your life had a bit of a clear-out and realised you've got a few spoons and forks sitting in places they shouldn't be? How does normal, absent-minded behaviour equate to violence?
Honestly, you are making something out of nothing. If you really feel uncomfortable there then consider finding your own place. If you stay then you are going to have to compromise on lifestyles.0 -

No I wouldn't.
I strongly suggest you talk to him. Even if someone doesn't have Aspergers syndrome when you live in a shared house one person will do things differently and if you talk to them like an adult rather than shouting or moaning at then you are likely to sort the issue out.
BTW I have worked with someone with Aspergers Syndrome and they were a pleasure to work with once I worked out what freaked them out as there are no surprises.
It's nice working in a corporate environment with someone who forces those around you to be honest.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

You just reminded me of a story someone told me long ago.confused31 wrote: »i wouldnt worry about your jacket just imagine where he's probably had your toothbrush, lol when you was away:eek:
Someone got burgled and the burglars took some pictures of themselves on their crap camera. They developed the film in the camera wondering what was on the film and discovered that one of the pictures was a picture of one of the burglars with a toothbrush up his behind........I'm not cynical I'm realistic

I would be aware but not worried.
In reading though the linked previous thread I chuckled then laughd out load as I, with no autism that I am aware of, have LOTS of the traits mentioned- to a worrying degree. Like anyone, autistic/aspergers or othrwise, I have my personal quirks and even obcessions. As do those I love and live with: hard when they conflict.
You can do what this guy can't: empathise and be flexible. Its amazing preparation for living with a partner/marriage....and life.0 -
id get some fishing line and tie it too your big toe and attach it to your door handle, so if he comes into your room when your asleep you will know, you might wake up with him snuggled up next to you, especially if hes turned the heating off and hes cold.:o
Joking aside i wouldnt like it, i would just tell the landlord sort it out otherwise you are going, surely he has a responsibilty for tennants safety, if they are sharing a house, ask the landlord for a risk assessment.I am not a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as not being a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. What would the landlord sort out though? There's absolutely no evidence that the allegedly-aspie flatmate did anything to the OP's jacket. There's even less evidence that he's violent. The only person who seems to be causing ructions is the OP and his landlord might well tell him to sling his hook if he complains.confused31 wrote: »id get some fishing line and tie it too your big toe and attach it to your door handle, so if he comes into your room when your asleep you will know, you might wake up with him snuggled up next to you, especially if hes turned the heating off and hes cold.:o

The OP is clearly unhappy about his situation but it would be much better for him to deal with that rather than blame others. If he can't deal with his flatmates then he needs to find someplace else.0
