As well as being highly accurate, they're also independent which helps their authenticity.
The chap who programs Big Boards treats performance as a high priority so I can only imagine that this is a temporary thing, or that client side software doesn't like the cross site request and is holding up the download.
I don't suppose that it would be disasterous in this instance to add big-boards.com to your restricted sites in order for the request not to be made, assuming this is a client side issue which needs fixing client side.
The problem doesn't happen very often so I'm not going to bother with adding big-boards.com to my restricted sites list. If it starts causing problems again I might do so temporarily.

I haven't noticed it for ages. Can it be a DNS issue with your ISP? Or can you divert it in your hosts file?0

Nah its not a DNS issue at all or Host files.. its MSE they do know about
in post #7 Ive forced a DNS flush my side just to be sure, but its MSE.
