I am very jealous of your purple hair :) OH wouldn't let me dye mine or our Master of Cermonies - I thought it would have looked sooo cool!

Yes, we're having purple, white and some black touches :D Am also thinking about decorating my bedroom in purple after the wedding too now.

I'm also big on butterfly decorations and am drafting firneds and family in to help me make a couple of hundred paper butterflies!

Very nice, I did think about changing my hair for the wedding but its a nice purple and I really like it, Was blonde for 8 years then just changed it one day without telling anyone, think it will look nice against all the ivory.
Adding a bit of silver into ours for it to sparkle!
My bedroom is already purple, lol. 1 purple wall, purple curtains, purple throw and cushions on bed then everything else is white and silver and I LOVE it!!!!
OH is colour blind so has no say in any colour schemes!
Butterflys will look gorgeous, one of the shops on ebay had lovely edible ones for cakes which I considered but my brothers fiancee is having a garden theme so using butterflies so decided against it

Hi everyone, not been around for a while due to the job issues, well I wasnt successful so I will be joining the ranks of redundant people on 31st July. Feeling pretty devastated and angry at the mo. The company is supposedly cutting costs yet they have offered all our jobs to people currently based in australia (so how they have UK and EU employment law knowledge and experience is anyones guess) - cost cutting my !!!!!!! and my boss has been forced to take a position that would be junior for me so very junior for her although her salary would be maintained....again I dont see how that is cost cutting.

Anyway - nice to see everyones plans coming along, I have sorted the cake too, it will be 3 tiers, ivory with blue ribbons around each tier and a crystal broach. I asked for something simple and it will be chocolate cake.

    The hen do proceedings are:
    - Tiesto in the park on 31st July
    - Berkely spa for a facial, massage and exfoliation treatment and full day on 1st August
    - dinner in a secret location on 1st August
    - drinks and dancing in a secret location on 1st August
(my bridesmaids wanted to surprise me which is nice)
Originally I just wanted to do a cheap evening on 1st August as I didnt want people to have to spend money. I was going to have a facial etc the week before anyway and thought it would be rude not to give people the option of joining me. So my chief BM booked the berkeley for me. Then someone invited me to Tiesto so I thought it would be a nice unofficial start to proceedings!!

My veil has just arrived and its gorge :T

Val - ooohhh Altea sounds lovely. Can I come too :)

SmlSave - hope you and H2B are having fabulously drunk hen/stag parties. I'm so jealous - I want mine again!

Steph - so sorry to hear about your work issues. I hope it all works out well for you.

Finally got H2B into John Lewis to get our gift list sorted. It opens next week so we really had to get it done. H2B was quite enthusiastic at first but I think he soon lost interest when we started on the kettle lol. His contribution to the list was a thermos flask (for his work) and a toasted sandwich maker. Me, I'm not convinced we got enough on there, so may have to add in some stuff online :o

Tomorrow, we're meeting with our cake lady. We were going with cupcakes, but I think we might choose something simpler to save on costs. I love your cake Val, so may have to have one similar!

Off topic - I am absolutely gutted about the death of MJ. I bought tickets for H2B and I to see him in concert in Sep and Feb, and we were so looking forward to it. RIP MJ.

Grrrrrrrrrrr @ you two. I LOVE Tiesto (did you see him at 02 Arena last year? AMAZING!) but none of my hens are into that kind of music apart from my CBM. I'm SO jealous of you. Can't justify going to that with the wedding and all :-(
