    Hi guys

Had anyone found this whole dress buying disconcerting. Not only are there mirrors everywhere so you see EVERY lump and bump:eek: the woman from the shop came in the changing room with me :eek: . I found that most uncomfortable and to top it off I needed a darn site larger dress than I thought I did.

In an ideal world I would like to lose about 5 stone in the next 6 months - I know that this isn't really practical - but a lot of it is baby weight as my little one has just turned four months old.

Hi Sarah, welcome to the group :D I've added you to the list.

When I went dress shopping I found it uncomfortable with the lady in the dressing room when I was standing there in my pants!

When I was dress hunting, the best piece of advice I got was "Dress as the bride that you are, not the bride that you want to be". I think most of us would like to lose some weight before the big day but sometimes it doesn't always happen. I would love to lose a few pounds but I'm not counting on it as I am quite lazy lol. Plus I had a friend once who bought a wedding dress 2 sizes smaller as she was intending to slim down to fit into it, and she ended up not losing the weight and had to buy another dress to fit at the last minute!

You will find the dream dress. You'll know when you've found it!

Lovely Sammy. We have got our sparkly stuff tonight- we don't like Champagne so tried a bottle of that £1.99 Rose Asti on offer at Tesco and really liked it so went back and bought 20 bottles lol.

Wow, what a bargain! That's a great price - you've saved loads! My venue charges an arm for corkage so unfortunately we can't save any money there :(

I haggled Sammy- I only pay corkage on the wine during the meal (or buy it from there which we will do as it is not overly expensive). All the sparkly stuff is corkage free (just coz I asked!!)

That's good going - I think I may try that. Considering we're paying 50% of our budget on the reception, they may allow us to bring our own bubbly instead of paying £6 a glass of theirs for the toast

Thanks for the head up :)

  • Hi all!

I thought it was about time I asked to have my wedding date (1st August 2009:beer: ) added to the August ones. I have been pinching loads of wedding ideas from this site and it has been a great help in the past 3 weeks since deciding to set the date. We have now booked most of the things we need to and even have the wedding favours sorted. I am now in the process of making my own wedding stationary...thanks to loads of great ideas ;)!

    Thank you everyone!
  • Hi popsicle welcome to the board you sound like you have a lot sorted

I am been good staying in to save money for the wedding but have just spent lots on debenhams but its things for the wedding so thats ok lol, just got all 4 pairs of bridesmaid shoes and little bridesmaids diamante headbands got a 20% off code off another forum so saved on what I had budgeted:j
  • I used the 20% offer for Debenhams too to get all the little bridesmaids dresses and tiaras....and my wedding shoes! They had an offer instore too to get £100 off voucher for booking a holiday, so we booked our honeymoon with it!

I have promised my HTB that I wont buy any more shoes until after the wedding (except the bridal ones of course). So far I have been good...I just hope I don't see any bargain buys! :D

Can you add me too please!

I'm getting married on first August - thought i'd join in because some of the tips have been really helpful to me, and I'm having a few wobbles at the moment about how much everything costs! Be good to chat with a few people that feel the same!
