You need to be no more than 2km from the exchange
Incorrect - the closer you are to the exchange, the more likely you are to get around 8Meg. As the distance increases, the speed decreases.0 -
most companies have told me they are upgrading and speeds will change very soon but dont say for definite what prices, speed and details will beall views, comments and opinions are mine and i have the right to be wrong0

I have tried a couple
But I am still more than happy with Tiscali - I know some people have had problems but heres my 2 cents worth
I started with them on 150k years ago - because they were at the time the only one that gave free modem line upgrade and connection for 15.99pm
They upgraded me to 256k automatically when it bacame available
I keep checking their site every so often for offers and I got upgraded to 1mb unlimited for 14.99
The most recent deal which I am now on is 2mb Unlimited with all my landline calls (std ones 01... 02...etc not 08.. - but includes all of the UK) for free 24/7 for £19.99pm
I think Talk Talk do something similar0 -
I have NTL as well I have never had a problem with them which surprised me cos when I had the tv service they were pretty naff, defo one of the best providers i've used for broadband
Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.0 -
I was considering moving to Euro1Net from e7even. I noticed that Euro1Nets maximum upload speed is 256Kbps, is this not slow?0
-
256Kbps for upload is pretty normal. When you think about it all you are sending is small amounts of data whereas you need a decent download speed to receive pages including all their graphics and fancy-twiddly bits more quickly
ivanI don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0 -
At only £10 a month it seems to good to be true!! I am tempted to sign up for their 2 year deal, does anyone know what their customer service is like of late and is their broadband reliable?0
-
They get good reviews on adslguide but to be honest, unless you can only get 512Kb to your house, why bother. £5 more for up to 16 times faster? I know what I would do.0

There customer service is brillant . They actually phone you back so youre not paying for the phone call . Dont forget you get the a .co.uk reg free plus the webspace . Thing i find brillant is its so easy to refer somebody . You can then log in to you account online and see the xtra month added .
