I'm with Tiscali, have been for a couple of years, no problems at all, also live in Belfast
  • Andy it doesn't matter which provider you go with even if they are based in UK..Nildram is a good INternet provider...Tiscali personally wouldn't touch with a barge pole (probs with them) look at https://www.adslguide.org.uk and read on their forums about the various providers to get an idea of the best ones.

Have a look at Plusnet, not perfect but reliable and just about as cheap as it gets.

I joined Pipex because it also offered 500 minutes of free phone calls each month. I am not a heavy internet user so their basic package suited me fine.

I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!
  • I'm on Pipex as well and I have to report no problems so far. I used the adsl guide as a comparison and Pipex came in near the top at the time we changed. For goodness sake, don't touch UTV with a bargepole, not recommended at all!!

Unfortunately, there are none of the cheaper LLU suppliers available in Northern Ireland. (To the best of my knowledge)

BeThere were planning to un bundle a lot of NI exchanges, but that plan now seems to be on the back burner :(

Your only option is to go with one of the normal ISP's. Do you have NTL available in your area?

    Cheers, Des.

i'm with NTL, in belfast, and must be one of the rare people that never experience problems (and i'm a heavy user). the good thing is that they now provide cable broadband without having to sign up other services. so you don't need a telephone line if you are a bit savvy and fancy using a voip phone instead. saves you the cost of your bt line rental a month. i kept the phone line on their 3 for £30 deal but my boyfriend has a sipgate phone which has an 02890 number - its great

Wow you just managed to answer my question before I got the chance to type it. I am moving back to NI in about a month and was wondering what to do about Internet. I have a sipgate number so was hoping to do without a phone line. I think now I will sign up with NTL but just for the basic broadband.
