My rear view mirror fell of when I was wiping the screen inside. It appears to be slotted into a metal part on the windscreen. which must be glued to windscreen

The mirror slots in with a groove either side of the arm which slots into the metal but stuck on screen

I got a cheap glue to stick the slot back on its only small but doesnt work can anyone recommend a glue that would stick plastic

I dont really want to buy a new one if possible spent enough money on car as it is

Go and see someone like AutoWindscreens.

At worst they'll charge you about a quid for fixing it (which is less than the price of the superglue you bought probably), or if you ask them really nicely they'll probably do that for free :)

(but don't take the mickey and call them out and expect those prices, you'll need to take the car to them)

Any windscreen replacement service will probably oblige :)

e.g RAC windscreens, Autoglass, SilverShield, etc.

Check out your local yellow pages for a local replacement service - you might even find a small independent

Edit: sorry RAC Windscreens is the old name for AutoWindscreens so ignore that one.

Halfords used to a double sided sticky pad to do this - you need to make sure all surfaces are clean and dry! Super glue is too brittle.

I was wondering about that I used to stick rear view mirrors at work with double sided tape many many years ago, the think is the mirror mounts on a metal holder which is on the wind screen

I might have to use some double sided tape for a few days unless I can get some glue to work or buy a mirror from some where else or use a windscreen repair place

I know we do have autoglass in my town so may try there
