Makes you feel a bit of an idiot when you believe people like her. Wonder if she will manage to spin enough of a line to the doctor so she keeps her benefit.

  • I had my medical on 23/12/08 for the same problems as you. I had to count backwards from 100 in 7's and do some simple mental arithmetic as mentioned.

Some of the questions asked here sound familiar, like what you do with your time, when you go out and what you go out for etc..

He was ok to be honest, pretty impartial, neither helpful nor trying to make me sound like a liar, which is all I could have asked for. I don't know how I'd respond to some of the doctors mentioned above trying to trip me up.

My result letter came through about 2 weeks after.

Yes I have a My husband bought it to get himself to work and back so tehcnically its his car. Ive drove it once to an appointment 1/4 mile away and had a panick attack so dh had to take over. Ok I went on holiday and am hoping to go again as it actually does perk me up as I get out of the house and away from everything, but that doesnt mean Im not genuinely ill as in day to day life the only time I go out is for doctors appointments etc. You do not know me, do not know my circumstances so how can you judge me.

I think youll find taking an interest in eastenders and all these postal surveys will count aganst you too as technically you shouldnt have any interest in anything or be able to concentrate judging from some posts.

!!!!!!??? so if someone suffers from panick attacks and depression they are not allowed to own a car or go on holiday??? !!!!!! grow up people!!

i have suffered from depression since i was a teen when my mum used to treat my like s**t and kicked me out at 16, now i have a son and still suffer terribly when alone - infact it gets that bad i dont go out or let any one in during the week unless im with my oh or another family member.... but just because i suffer form depression does not mean i have to stop my son from having a normal childhood.

My childhood was hell which is why i am suffering form depression and i am determined not to let that happen to my son which is why when i can i make life as normal as i can and yes a normal life does involve taking him on holidays, on these holidays i will feel nervous and panick alot but i hide it from him and try to act confidently.

Infact i have been putting on a front for so long that it wasnt until i broke down infront of my mum a few months ago that anyone knew just how bad i felt.

tell me why is it that because emweaver suffers badly form depression and panick attacks that her oh isnt allowed a car and her daughter should miss out on holidays????

im due a medical soon, awaiting my appointment letter and am anxious about it. i dont like to go out and travel on transport and have to spend over an hour on the bus to get there. ill need to take either my dh or dad with me as i suffer panick attacks and find it worse if Im alone. Also have to take DD as shes soo clingy she wont stay with anyone!

What sort of things will they ask me? Will i be allowed to take DD in?

Why can't your husband drive you there or will you both be going on the bus and leaving the car in the garage?

Can't your daughter be left with your husband? I take it she will stay with him?

She will stay with my husband at home but if they come shell get hysterical when I go into the appointment, she does when I go to the doctors shes overly clingy. If he can get time off work he can drive us but atm the car is off the road so depends on those two factors

  • I really wish i could go on holiday. The only time i leave my home it to go to the local shop opposite my house. Other than that i do all my shopping online. My daughter does not suffer though as granny and grandad do all the "normal" things with her and her dad takes her out every saturday. In fact he is going to take her on holiday in the easter holidays. I try not to beat myself up about it as she does to lose out. To be honest maybe those with panic attacts etc who are able to go on holiday can give me some pointers how to cope as i have not been on holiday or anything for the last 18 years.
