Estate agents not trying.

They are probably too busy trying to sell houses to people who have shown more desire, urgency and commitment to buy and so able to secure higher prices for their customers (the vendors) than you clearly are portraying to us in this thread ... and so presumably you have portrayed the same desire to just kick a few bricks to the EAs.
This not only gives their customers the service they are paying for, but allows the EAs to earn more money by providing that service.
Well a Rightmove search reveals 79 properties that fulfil my criteria and NONE of them are SSTC.
Thank God for all the "quality buyers" eh?S!!!!horpe0 -

Perhaps they are not sstc since the vendors have yet to find a property they are in a position to buy. You'll discover this when you get to meet the vendors.
You can't expect an agent to show any interest in you unless and until you start acting pro-actively in looking seriously for a property.
But as you already said:dazco wrote:It is not too big a deal for me because I can wait and wait,...
so it's no surprise the EAs are treating you accordingly"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Thats a very good point, agents classify buyers and if you are able to wait and wait then you are not a "hot" client.
Show some interest and they will do likewise.0 -
This will be my last post on this because I can feel myself being drawn into an argument which I do not need.
Many of you think it is more acceptable for an estate agent to sit in the office not selling anything than to pick the phone up and have a word with someone who says they will buy for cash if the price is right. I reiterate that out of 79 properties I would be interested in none are sold or have offers on.
I do not think this is acceptable. I am in sales and if someone rings up with a fair query then that person will either buy off us or not. But we will try our best, not just ignore them.
The posters who suggest they are ignoring me for the throng of potential buyers are in cloud cuckoo land. One sale a month estate agents are averaging, I read on here.S!!!!horpe0 -

The EA's haven't been rung because they haven't anything to offer you that meets your remit.0 -
But why should they waste their time with someone that is:
a) "looking for a good deal" = likely to only put in rediculously low offers
and
b) "can wait and wait" = no urgency to complete on deal, or even possibly exchange
and
c) "has seen 79 properties for sale that they are interested in placing an offer on" = someone who really doesn't care about what they are buying (and probably would pull out of a deal even if an offer were made)"Now to trolling as a concept. ....
