That's just out of stock for new orders - if it was there when you placed it it should have been reserved for you and you should get it.0 -
Thanks LuSiVe for reassuring me. I will keep my fingers crossed and wait until monday then (then I will be able to sleep!)Stacyl1977:EasterBun0

hi, i got my email confirmation at 3.10 am on wednesday morning, i placed ,my order really quickly as i had things in my basket already (is that wrong?). i would have placed it quicker but i got confused as two items were still half price and not 75% - i am going to return these when they arrive, i didn't want to remove them at the time incase of something going wrong. :rolleyes:now mum of 4!!!0 -

Phone CS when the order arrives and complain to CS that two of the items were charged at half price and not 75% off. Others have said they have done this and CS has agreed to credit the difference. It's worth trying before you just decide to send the items back.0 -
Has anyone been to Manchester Arndale, if they have is it worth a trip? Last year we went the weekend after the sale started and there was loads of stuff but it is an hour drive(Please PM me as i am off to work now and might not have chance to read back)0

Boots have just made a huge mess of this and unfortunately I think alot of people probably wont bother again next year. The thing is, we want the bargains and they need the sales so who quits first? I haven't given up hope just yet though, lol!
I think the major problem is that is probably being treated by some individuals as a Wholesale facility, but it is not geared up for that.
My friend witnessed, instore, a group of 4 women who had 6 of those humungous bags (like you get sand or cement delivered in) sweeping entire shelves of the same Sale product into them. It nearly caused a riot as no-one else could get round them & their monster-sized bags so they single-handedly cleared the shelves, plus it subsequently monopolised Checkout for hours!!!
I remember witnessing a similar incident last year & from what I have read here, a few other peeps have seen this happening in their local stores also.
Obviously, these people are buying huge quantities (Wholesale) to re-sell & if they are doing it in-store, they are probably doing it online also. However, the website is designed as a Consumer site, not a Wholesale one & it isn't difficult to imagine how a good few people putting 100 products of each sale line in their baskets & hitting the button at the same time is going to completely freak the system out.
Likewise instore, they are so not geared for Wholesale activity either.
I don't intend to debate the morals of this, but I think quite simply, for purely operational reasons, Boots will have to decide if their Sales are going to be Consumer/Retail or Wholesale. If it is Consumer then they will have to put a limit (say 3 or 5) on the sale of each item. As we all know Supermarkets already do this on their Loss Leader Offers (usually a limit of 3), otherwise the stores would be full of Independent Retailers, Stall Holders etc. buying there instead of the Cash & Carry.
What do you guys think?0 -
